I dont know if this would be possible, but id like to see a button that lets you see the attachment points when attaching an object
there have been so many times i tried to use extender side points but they were facing the wrong way
also, a chariot themed wheel with an attachment point opposite the other one so you can make wheels with spikes on them like so

exept a drive wheel not a steering wheel

I'm pretty sure the first idea was suggested already.
-
DSL has Long Axle versions of motors for the Wheel Spike idea.
-
you can do that with painting where the AP is on the extender using the map of said object. look at my skin pack for an example.
-
Lu-tze made a chariot wheel but I don't know where you can find it. It used to be on her site but it was a broken link when I first joined but maybe someone else has it.
-
She has a site?
-
Had.
-
I followed it through from her sig on the archived forums, the download links didnt work but you can have a look around.
-
Link?
-
lazy :P
just find her posts on the archive, I was looking at the original robot wars arena thread
that was months and months ago so I have know idea for the link.
-

huh, I must have missed it on RFSHQ... or I got it and forgot about it... Either way, thanks dalesec7.
Her site contained several RA2 things (ranging from the Wheel Tutorial to custom components) that were later moved to GTM by ACAMS and Goose. They had been paying to keep her site up after her death but the site was falling apart without constant maintenance. Something that made her site different than the rest was that it had a virtual room filled with her RA2 components (for easy previewing).
-
i never knew that. i had only seen the name mentioned a few times in my time on the RA2 forum and GTM. still, respect for all the great work she had done then.

Yeah, VRML data exported with PyRA2. Since VRML is dead now, I modified PyRA2 to export to a O3D-based webpage (for my robot exchange). I'll probably release them at the same time, so one will be able to do this sort of cool stuff again.
