Title: Enhanced precision in bot building
Post by: Jestahead on November 23, 2011, 07:53:37 AM
Completely ignorant of the feasibility of this idea, but it struck me that the mouse can be really imprecise when it comes to bot building. I'm using a Razer Deathadder 3500dpi mouse and I still have a lot of trouble when things are off by a pixel or two. Would it be possible to add functionality move things (components, sliders, chassis grid points, that kinda thing) one pixel at a time with the arrow keys instead of the mouse?

You're in luck. nightcracker wrote a program to do exactly this, it helps with precision quite a lot. Here's the link for you. =)

If you have enough dexterity and even an average mouse (like I have) it's not very difficult to move a component one pixel.

I'll have to try NC's movepixel one of these days.

Thanks, the macro makes precise movements really easy. Never again will my drive motors be unaligned...
