Title: Custom components
Post by: Classicus on June 17, 2012, 09:05:08 AM
I am thinking of copying and reconfiguring cheatbot components and balancing their attributes with standard DSL components. This is so I have the variety and flexibility of cheatbot components with less cheatiness. If I used the components do I need to have a custom showcase?

I'd say so, yes. If they were just reskins then that would be fine. But as you're changing their attributes...

Yeah, I'd say custom to that. Just to be on the safe side.

any bot with components that you edit (.txt*, .gmf*) go into custom, reskins (.bmp, .tga) and cheatbot2 (irl building) go in stock/dsl

*when not reskinning

Bad definition, by that logic any bot I have reskinned should be a "custom" bot as I had to touch the .gmf and .txt files.

I attempted to do that, the community didn't really hooked up.

If a component is created or altered in such a way that its shape, features or attributes do not match up with components that are already found in either Stock or DSL, then that component becomes a custom component.

I'd say that was a fairly good description.
