I have thought of an awesome twist for DSL 1.2 or even for modders to do, make a level for hill climbing like in real life. This would allow us to make challenging bots with suspension and mutliple wheel drive and drag bars etc. It would be cool, then there could be a platform at the top to fight. The arena would like this:

This 2d model is accurate to the fact that i want there to hills only on the two sides, an nowehre else, i want the opposite edges that the bots are on to be nothing. There needs to be high walls on the outside of this level for sure though.
This has enormous potential, and if I had the know how I would do it myself, I would want this to be extremely challenging but not unrealistic. There would be atleast three stages of difficulty on the mountain. The person who got there first could guard the side the other is coming up on.

If anyone is willing to take my proposal seriously, I would be thrilled as I am a huge 4x4 and offroading fan. It adds a totally new element to the game and this could become big online as well.
I would not want there to be points for staying on the top the longest as I want it to be a brawl all over. Any questions please post.

yea. how steep should it be 45 deg.? more? steeper than perimid. or would you like it to get steeper as you go up?
should i make it bumpy like the mars arena(the hill part)
and should the top be king of the hill? edit: oops... re read. but i would personaly like it. otherise there would be no reason to go up

Maybe start at 30 deg and go to max 55, with bumps and plateaus occasionally as well as holes and stuff to throw them off.

this sounds extremely cool.
We talked about different ideas and this one did not come up and would be cool to see in action. We started out with very diferent arenas like the obstical course and the gravyard and a obstical race but as time went on we went for more simple arenas for lag and complexity reasons.
This one however seems it could be done with low lag since most everything is static.

That does sound fun.
Brainstorm!!!
Racetrack. Nice open course high speed racing, so it would be low lag. Just use 4 zones and some variables to make laps work. 100000 points for a lap so it's only laps that count for a win.
Stunt course. Ramps, loops, jumps, hills, cliffs, half pipes...
Those too would add a whole new twist to the game.

i was thinking about a race type thing . but how would you win? if everone finishes you all will have 100000 points

not sure if it can work. but start the "winning area" at a huge number of points, like 25000 or somthing. and every second it looses 10 points.
so... if you finish in 30 seconds you will get 24700

The track would be a loop, and whenever you passed the start line again you would get points. You could just use some zones to make it so you could go back and forth to get points.
ex.
enter zone 1 if x=0 then set x=1
enter zone 2 if x=1 then set x=2
enter zone 3 if x=2 then set x=3
enter startzone if x=3 then set x=0 and set y=y+1 add 100000 points
enter startzone if x=3 and y=5 then end match and declare winner
That's how it would work, except it would need to be py type coding. Do five laps and you win.

that black arena that looks like a mountain in the middle started out as a race course but was not finished because of the lap counting problems.
For the race LT had an idea she wanted to do and that last lap would open a finish box which the first bot in would be in a safe zone and the whole arena would flip upside down and only the bot in the win zone would not fall off and it would kill the other bot.

About that race thing, why not make like, a 1 min race there would be checkpoint in the race which could give like 1000 point every time you pass it then a lap would be 10 000 points... and then, at the third lap, like LT idea, a box which make filp the arena all over...
and for that thing, why not just to make a race to the finish (like in a rally) which you don't come back to the begin of the race... so at the end of the race, you have a little box which you enter then bang, no bot except the one in the box...
just my idea

about that climb arena:
you could make two way to get to the top:
1st way: a hard way which mean to go to the top in a "straight line" but really difficult why hump and thing like that
2nd way: a easy way but a longer way (a 30° road which do the round of the mountain and go to the top again but in a longer way)
my others idea.
