Hey! I know this maybe doesnt belong as a new thread here and im sorry if it bothers you. I was wondering if someone could update the battlebox arena so that it has:
1. The screws. The screw was 1 of my favorite hazards along the killsaws. I would really appreciate if some1 could add them.
2. Battleroyal gamemode. So far, you can only play 2 bots at the same time on it. I would like if you could play all 4 on the arena.
I have included the arena as an attachments. Not that i think u need it but just in case.
Just remember to cut out the BATTLEBOX_2_0.py and put it in the Arenas folder. The BATTLEBOX_2_0 u put also in the Arenas folder.

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed and that the addition of screws would make it lag to death.
-
Oh well im aware of that but my computer can handle it trust me. I rather have a laggy battlebox with screws rather then a unlaggy wtihout so please if any could do it please do.
-
Someone needs to just redo the battlebox because it is so laggy and could be way simpler.
-
You think its laggy? Omg. I dont think any arena is laggy. I tried using school somputer and play on 1 of my favorite arenas Cave arena. Now thats laggy. But i dont have any lagg on my computer. So i think my computer would be able to handle screws. Could someone upload a version with screws please.

Making a mod to an arena takes time, if anyone actually does make this which is unlikely because of the lag they won't be able to upload it straight away.

Indeed. I mean, my suggestions to reduce the lag would be to-
- Have the Pulverisers made to work they way they do in the Half Circle and Octagon Arenas, smashing down once then retracting rather than staying down like they do there.
- The Hellraisers removed, since they don't do a great deal other than annoy people.
- The Killsaws could be forced up less powerfully so that they don't spaz about everywhere when anyone tries to use them, which in turn would reduce lag.
- Most importantly however, the Spike Strips from what I've heard, use individual collision meshes, which no doubt eat up the required memory. If they used one long collision mesh for each Strip, maybe that'd work better?
-
Didn't freeziez get the heckraisers to stop working for battlebots?
-
Yep, by hashtagging out 2 lines of code from the py or something. I'm reasonably sure most of the complaints (killsaws/pulverisers) can be fixed quite easily in the py as that seems to handle most of this sort of thing. But then again I know nothing about arenas.
-
Thats what i like eith the arena. Its very realstic made. Indivdual spikes SUPER! Unlike most of the saws. These actually spins. but they dont seem to do much damage. They just make the bots fly. The heckraisers wich i assume is the flippers in the middle is a hazards. Dont leave any hazards out. But yeah i rather have screws then heckraisers that i can agree. So any1 up to the job? any1 with the knowledge and skill?

The first one wouldn't reduce the lag but the other three would.
I agree that the Battlebox Arena is in need of updates but I'm not going to do anything about it for the same reason that I'm not updating the RW Arena. It is a big job with little reward consider that the arena has already been made once. I'm also busy with a few other projects ATM and nobody has taken me up on my offer to co-work on them (it doesn't matter how much modding experience you have because I would be more than willing to teach you).

What are these projects? I may have missed them at some point, but I feel pretty good/ready for helping out with something despite my very lacking knowledge.
-
What I meant to say is that I am currently working on several of my own projects for RA2 but I would be glad to start new ones with people. If you are interested in starting one with me, send me a PM and I'm sure that we can work something out.
As far as my projects go, I have many little ones that are unfinished (like the ones posted here (https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,11599.msg545465.html#msg545465)) but they have been set aside until I finish the bot exchange.

In that case i would like to help. I just love learning new things. How much help i would be i dont know though :P
