If I see anyone use the word "pure" in front of a bot type again i will go freakin' nuts.
There is no such thing as PURE anything. You either have one type of bot, or its a hybrid of many types.
PURE HS does not mean a HW Hs with 36 weapons. Thats just a HS.
The word PURE means nothing in the sense of bot building, and saying that you built a PURE anything just makes you sound stupid.
kaybye.
-
how about "P"
-
Robo, have I told you how stupid you sound?
-
i also get confused as heck when i hear p***

Despite not using pure, I'm not seeing the logic. Well, minus the fact that drivetrain =/= HS weapon system.
-
Theres no point in calling a bot pure, its either a regular bot of one kind or a hybrid.
-
The term "pure" I thought only applied to Absolute Chaos-style HS, because we are all too lazy to type out "4-tribar on HPZ's, 36-mace/iron, 2 HPZ drive, 2 black batteries, and DSA."
Anyways, blame Sage. He coined the term.
-
I shrugged at the term Pure HS because I didn't see them as Pure. I would be fine with the term of 4HPZ36 (Less letters by 1 then writing "Pure HS"). You can build an HS with 3HPZ and 36 Maces/Irons and still have room for other stuff. Is that any more or less pure?
Starcore
(I chose to do T-800 Terminator in BBEANS5 with a wall of Ram Plates instead of going 'Pure'. It had a bad first round in BBEANS5 but I do believe the Ram Plates or variations of the theme make it a more versatile bot then a 'Pure HS'.)
-
I agree with Starcore.

Heh. I did that as a SnS hybrid but it wasn't that effective because of HPZ drive motors on the rear AP of Snapper IIs.
-
I meant it like the bot had only HS parts. There was no armor, or static weaponry. An HS that was completely and utterly HS. A Pure HS.
But that doesn't mean all 4 motor 36 weapon are Pure HS. Krome isn't because it has frontal armor.
Pure doesn't mean anything more than that. It's not like it means it's better than any other kind of HS.

don't go blaming Sage. i'm sure he had a damn good reason for it.
-
Sage's reasoning was pretty good definition but maybe we should just ditch the name pure and stop bickering over something like a silly term :-D:-D:-D happiness for everyone not a blame game
-

You seem to have your sarcasm detectors malfunctioning. I suggest you get them fixed.
-
i wasn't being sarcastic :-D
-
*sighs* I think it was R0B0Sh4RK that was being sarcastic.
-
Does it really matter if somebody calls their bot pure? What difference does that make to anybody else? If they feel comfortable calling their bot pure, let them.
-
And what people call their own stuff is fine. Its when it is being considered to be a community term then people review and consider ramifications.
I am not aware of others calling bots like Neglected Waterbug a "Juggler" before I started using that term but it too went through general forum review before being accepted (or maybe not by some).

I like 36HS, 'pure' and simple
-
Owch! He he he.
-
I do feel that the term "Pure" is kind of inaccurate. Using the term "Typical HS" or "Standard HS" maybe.
However, I think the term 36HS is a good way to describe it. Another way can be calling them HS36w where the "w" can mean weapon or HS36Irons/Razors/Maces/etc. for those term junkies.
-
how about full hs
-
I like 36HS. Nice, simple, and accurate.
-
36HS. Yes.
-
for mw it would be 18hs and for lightweights it would be 9hs

*slaps forehead*

 I must be bored to tears to actually read this....this......discussion!

Why not just say what kind of bot you have, should there honestly be a community guideline to follow... I think it's ridiculous, although a term like "pure HS" makes some people egotistical, I.E "Oh well I've built 4 PURE HS, that's right." I think the standard should be the following: (number of weapons)(type)(weapon), Examples: 16HSM, 36HSM, 36HSI, 36VSI, etc... it makes sense, it's not boasting, it's short and simple...
-
Stay on topic: bot labels/designations.

Of course, because teaching all the noobs what VS, HS, FS, TS, AGOD, eFFeing, stacking, DSA, DSL, etc. are isn't nearly enough already.
Also, I really don't understand how using "pure HS" makes people egotistical...
-
I fully support the Full HS idea brought up. It is Pure, but less egotistical.
-
i like the letters/#s idea
