OPINION TIME:1. Yes, actually, (Just hope your in a arena with good hazards, or a pit, clamps don't do much damage, unless you replace the plows on this bot with weapons)
2. Spike strips can be put on extenders for armor/damage to opponents, like on Event Horizon 2:

3. No use for that kind of chassis comes to mind, really. Just don't bother and save the chassis weight. Fire axes and hammer heads aren't really too useful, use Razors/Irons instead.
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

1-Well yes, good stock clamps can be built... it's just that when you put them in AI battle, most just SUCK against more battle hardened classic designs like rammers or HS or popups.
2-Nope. Apart from looks or eventually counterweights.
3-What do you call a plough shaped wedge ? You mean just spamming the front of your bot with plows, or a V shaped front ? If that's the case, popups and hammers come to mind, as well as gut rippers in general. The V shaped front is generally for hammers. Or dustpans.

I like using spike strips as extender guards where most people use blades.  It offers basically the same protection but also deals a bit of extra damage.

But aside from that, they are outclassed by any of the Big 3 and also axe heads.

Fireman's axes are exactly the same as normal axes except they're 1 kg heavier and they have an awkward attach point, so there's really no reason to use them.

Hammer heads are outclassed by sledgehammers, and that's saying something.
