Also, the Stock bots are much better now :

Ripblade is probably the second best of the heavies right now (after EMERGENCY)

What the-

How did EMERGENCY get that much points?

For the fish thing, just use Ganja Benefactor's chassis (last team in SCv4) and replace the irons with fish. :P

It will be unrealistic then. I don't want the mod to be unrealistic.

How about a 'radar/satellite' dish, with a center electrode, that could be AI-ed as a laser weapon mounted on a SOW servo.  Make a cool, yet nasty AI I think...
I'll do the py work if you do the dish, Serge.
It's 'real' cause the Army has such a weapon, so maybe Nar would like it for this ROFL AI pack...but either way, NP.

Do a jet turbine motor. Takes a long time to rev up but when it does it makes a fridgey motor seem wimpy.

Or a donut wheel.

ROFL AI wouldn't be complete without SFTW. :P
Title: Re: ROFL AI previews.
Post by: Naryar on April 12, 2010, 03:47:47 AM
Of course SFTW is in... Rubber ducks are an awesome idea as well !

Anyways, ROFL AI Beta 2 is nearly finished. I have a few tweaks to finish then i will release it.

You will then be able to send teams.

Well, I'm working on the donut wheel. The model is ready, but I have trouble getting it to work in the game. Truth be told, I never did wheels before :P.

Nice.  Just one minor thing, is it possible to increase the size of the red collision mesh a bit?  Most wheels (such as granny) have a somewhat larger collision mesh than the wheel itself to keep it "grounded" more often.

I think you may have to reduce the number of vertices or that may lag like heck. Most of the wheels in RA2 aren't even close to actually round.

Well, if they weren't close to round, the bot would not drive smoothly. Its just the collision box that isn't round.

1) RA2 doesn't give a damn about the display mesh - it could be a million-vertex piece of art, as long as your computer handles it you're fine.
2) Wheels are a different beast - there's not only a collision mesh (which does collisions), but also a traction mesh, which tells the game if the wheel should have any drag (based on the fact if it's colliding with any other mesh, like the floor). The traction could be a cuboid, it wouldn't really do any bad apart the fact the sometimes the wheel would drag more and sometimes less, since the radius changes a lot more ( (sqrt(2)-1)/2 * 100% to be precise) compared to a, let's say, 8-sided cylinder.

Also, I just reformatted my system HDD, so I won't be able to do any RA2-related stuff for a couple of days, until I get Windows installed (OS X only ATM, and I love it).
