Presenting... Plunderbird 5!

My first actual professional build. Quite proud of it, to be honest.

the bot looks a little high (do you know about bfe or how to get the minimum height?) but i do like the skin. the extender on the top could do with a bit of tweeking but it's good for a newcomer

Looks good. You could maybe drop the chassis height down a tad but apart from that it looks great.

Presenting... Plunderbird 5 2.5 and a half!

Edit: Forgot to say, thanks for the help guys. The reason I originally did the tall height chassis was because I was stupidly going to use the JX Burst Motor, *facepalm* hah! I have no idea why I did the extender backwards either!

101 is a difficult motherf*cker to make, I tell you what. Someone or some people have probably already done it, but now is my turn, hah.

Unfortunately, that's the best I'll ever get it to be honest, and won't be updating it any time soon (If it does need updating).

Wow, nicely done. Are those reskinned drum components you've used?

No, there is some tracky component somewhere.

I wasn't sure it was allowed in the "Stock" section. Plus, this robot made me want to rip my hair out.

Thanks Gazea2, by the way!

Beaverbot.  I made it by putting the Dome from Darkrat's components on top of a cylinder chassis.

It's not a proper shell spinner, does anyone have the Melty Brain py and a sample binding?   It's hard to find anything with the search engine broken.

That's a good rep, Sonny- it reminds me of Hoot, actually  ^^

Talking of reps, I'm working on one myself. It's one that's already in DSL, but I'm working on to improve-

As you can see, it's an improved version of the Series 5/Extreme 1 Panic Attack. The one that's already in DSL looks decent enough, but there were several flaws with it that I want to sort out.
You can probably tell by the featureless paintjob that it's not quite finished yet- it mostly needs some little things here and there alongside the skin, but it's mostly there.

On the outside, I've shrunk it slightly and made it lower to the ground- just like the real robot, it's still big of course, but it's no longer as sprawling as the old one was.
The most major change externally however, was the removal of the stripy slope on the back, which the original robot never had. It's handy too- makes a good spot for pushing flipped opponents around with.

There's a lot more going on inside- so for this shot I've removed the lid, so that all the internal gubbins that make it work can be seen. The lifter and srimech parts are still more or less the same, but I've completely overhauled the batteries and drivetrain. Gone are the cheaty Darkrat Batteries, dreadful flatmotors and Storm Wheels, which provided all of the speed, no ground clearance, and could be knocked off in one hit from absolutely anything.

In their place, I've installed far more durable ant batteries, which are heavier when combined and more evenly spaced, allowing for better centre of gravity, as well as 4-wheel NPC-Fast Drive with Micro Wheels. Not only are they much more powerful from not relying on tyre grip for speed, they also provide a more realistic speed, and a newfound ease of control, making it much better to drive, not to mention handling more like the real thing.

The new Micro Wheels also provide another hidden advantage- they're extremely low to the ground, yet still handle perfectly well, not preventing the skirts from working like the old Storm Wheels. It could even be said that just like the real robot, the wheels, skirt and weight work well together to prevent robots from getting under it, and when combined with its lowness, allows it to glide across the arena like a 10mm Polycarbonate-armoured Manta Ray.
Oh, and no more wheels sticking out of the top, either!

Anyway, this is the point where I need some help with this- I have the Panic Attack textures from Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction here (Thanks for getting them, Ducky!), which I aim to build the robot around-

Unfortunately, I'm absolutely hopeless at pasting textures like these onto RA2 robots, and even worse at skinning components. So if it's possible, I can provide the BOT file, and could somebody apply the textures onto the parts (Panic Attack Skirts, Spikes and Srimech Lid) and the chassis? If someone can help me with this, please let me know.

You will? Thanks, lad. Here's the BOT file-
https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/PA2.zip
You can copy the eyes for the front from the other PA rep- that'd be the most convinient place to get them. PM it back to me with screenshots once you're done, OK?   :approve:

You really think so? Thank you Scrap- if Click's still taking things for DSL3, I might show him it once it's finished.

Ah, still working on that, is he? If it does go ahead, I'll send it as soon as it's finished.
