I like the replica, too- was the arm imported from Alphasim's RWAI pack?

The arm was imported from the roaming robots ai pack (forgot that the rw one had dantomkia in). It was to big at first so I used the beetle bros gmf editing method to shrink it. I don't have 3ds max :(
P.S are the beetle  bros actually brothers? newbie as you can tell.

Ah, OK. Never had much success in swapping components between AI packs meself.

Yes, they are actually brothers  =P

Is there a replica tournament on now? I was reading the the early pages of this thread and everyone was talking about a competition in 2009.

Not at the moment, but I'd suggest waiting around- one might come by soon, you never know.

To bring this back-

All 3 look good, especially Mortis and Dantomkia.
Glad you like it, mate- I also tried to make Mortis function as close to the IRL robot as possible. Even the Tanto has a great degree of power behind it- just check the screenshots below to see just what it can do.

Panic Attack is reduced to a nervous wreck...in both senses.

Not guilty!

That was Sir Killalot...I actually managed to drain his battery completely dry (I think that's the first time I've ever caused another robot to do that), and knocked off all of the external bits on the top- literally only the core and a bit of the head remained.

A hefty sweeping-up job was required afterwards   :approve:

Maybe you could add chassis shine, make the axe less OP and remove the edge lines which tbh look rubbish.
Wow, that came out more harsh than I'd hoped. :P

Chassis Shine- how do I do that?

Axe- Here are the values-
Code: [Select]
name = Mortis Blade
preview = blade_preview.bmp
dir = blade
model = blade1.gmf
type = weapons
base = Weapon
styles = Default
description = Mortis-purpose steel blade.
damagesounds = sounds\chorus_metal_tink.wav
decal = double_slash.tga 0 0 1 .5 .5 1
attachsound = sounds\cmp_generic.wav
concussion = 1
piercing = 3
standard = 1
fracture = 400
hitpoints = 5000
It's actually mounted on an Overkill motor (which works a lot like a Beta) with a lightweight extender- that allows it to fire the Tanto rapidly, and therefore attack opponents very quickly and do lots of accumilated damage. That partially explains it.

Edge Lines- I might do that if I can find a better way to convey the shape.

No idea, 123stw does it a bit I'm sure...
Maybe ask him.

It's somewhere in the .bot file, It's to do with the line where you can determine which armour it has, I think. I'm fairly sure it's the last number out of the five that determines chassis shine, but I'm not entirely certain how to alter it properly.

It determines the intensity of shine somehow, and is apparently a number from 0-100.  The first three numbers are RGB values and the fourth is opacity (of the shine, not the actual chassis... unfortunately).

You can also add a reflection map (like the shiny hub wheels) to make it super shiny.  Find the word 'false' that comes right after the second block of gibberish (the first block of gibberish is the preview picture, the second is the skin) and change it to 'true'.  It doesn't look good on boxy chassises though.  It's best on complicated chassises or ones with bent sides.

OK- I might have a look into it. Come to think of it, if it's possible, this might be a good initial prototype for a DSl3 Mortis, with its similar-to-IRL functionality (right down to the Beta-styled axe). Not a request persee, but more of a potential suggestion.
