Quoted for truth.
For instance...try something simple to begin with. Like this TRACIE rep I made in DSL earlier-

On the plus side though, here's a rep I cooked up just now-

Here's the Series 3/4 version of Mortis, which I might submit for the Series 3 mod, if it's still on.

Doesn't look too bad. Perhaps a tad wide, though.

Suppose there is that. I'm planning to realign the slots on the paintwork anyway, so if they can't be fixed properly, I'll have another go. It also uses that customised Mortis blade from some time ago.

Oh a new Mortis replica I missed it completely.  That's what I get for only checking the last page when the thread is marked "new"

I'm liking the colour, how did you make it? I could never really tell if Mortis was bronze, silver or black, it seemed to rather chameleononic  I love the shape too and the tanto is clever, I always just used an ice pick.

One thing you might want to consider, get rid of the edge lines.  I never use them unless the chassis is a very simple shape; when you've got a complex structure like this, they highlight just how unusual it looks

I think I may be overreacting a bit but doesn't it seem quite weird that everyone seems to forget that I made a perfectly fine Mortis Rep AND a Stinger Rep for Series 3 Mod

I can't find your rep by searching "Mortis" what happened to it?

Choosing the best Mortis is going to be a doozy, because let's face it everyone and their dog has made a replica of it.  Show of hands, who thought to use the Beetlebros' hammer motor for a rapid-fire tanto? *handraise*

The Mangulator, no decent stills so I included a vid.  Does anyone know how to make it flip over and hammer like Stinger?  I've tried adding a 500KG ballast to the reverse side, but that doesn't work.

got some PIMP wheels on that :D

you have to use slow but strong motors I think. but I could be wrong

edit: I think mortis has a simillar color as the judge

Crawler wheels.

You need to use discs or crawler wheels for any sort of true torque reaction.

I don't think Mangulator did torque reaction, did it? I thought it just spun around. If you can make the wheels randomly fall off, that's also good.

Glad you like it, Sonny! It's actually an older version of the paintjob- here's a newer version with the lines and the weapon slots tidied up-

Anyway, I did the colour by using one of the DSL Metal Textures (I think it was Metal3), adding rim lines, applying dark edges over that, and finally two dirt surface layers to provide shading.

And I'm glad you like the use of a blade for the Tanto- did you know that it's actually a custom component, with the normals removed?
