Is this a double accounter...?
You must know what type of file this is. It has to be an image file like a PNG or JPG. BMPs are to big.
Title: Re: Bots made in LDD

Oh, It's a PNG

Then you must have tried to use the File uploader, use the Image uploader instead. Then copy the field where you see the [IMG] tags.

Worked it out, guys, if you want all Lego bits...

Activiation For windows users

1. Close down LDD
2. Find the file preferences.ini the LEGO Digital Designer folder.

For Windows 7 it can be found here C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer\preferences.ini
For Windows XP here: C:\Documents And Settings\UserName\ApplicationData\Lego Company\Lego Digital Designer\preferences.ini
NOTE: If you can't find this folder, the read here how to make it visible

3. Open preferences.ini in a text editor and add the line: Themeaccess=LEGOUniverse
4. Save the file
5. Restart LDD and now you have access to a LEGO Universe palette

Activation For mac users.

1. Close down LDD
2. Find the file preferences.ini in /User/Library/Application Support/LEGO Company/LEGO Digital Designer/preferences.ini

3. Open it in a text editor and add the line: Themeaccess=LEGOUniverse
4. Save the file
5. Restart LDD and now you have access to a LEGO Universe palette

And if you guyys dont now love me, im gonna come to your house and stuff a giant lego dinosaur up your anus.

*little hard to read that*
If you use the rotate tool on a part that is rotate-able, green arrows will appear around that part saying which directions you can turn/rotate said piece.

Also, all the parts I used on my previous robots are all in the universe parts section. You just have to look for them.

Provided, you have to go into something like Paint and paste it there in order to save it.

Title: Re: Bots made in LDD
Post by: J on September 13, 2010, 06:55:01 PM
Guiz, we should make up weight classes for LDD-Bots. But instead of actual weights, we have it based on # of parts used. K?

I'm thinking:
10 or less - Studweight
10 - 15 - Brickweight
15 - 20 - Figweight
20+ - Modelweight

Obveiously this is subject to change, but ehhh....

Also, just for laughs, lets say the Max Sphere is an area thats 16x16 studs.

(I'm tempted to say no mechs, but that ruins the fun)

I like the idea, but what if there's a huge bot made of 10 or less pieces?

Yea, this might be a problem.
Maybe we should say "Bot cant exceed [# of studs] wide" and "Bot cant be taller then [# of bricks] tall" for each class?

Ok, I'm re-working my idea from earlier:
Lets say that tires, as a whole, are 1 part.
Connection parts(like black extenders and what-not) don't count, as those would just eat at the part limit.
And just for laughs, lets say all bots need an antennae, but that doesn't count towards the part limit.
And I think an 8x8 area, with a limit of 7 bricks high, is how big a 'Stud-weight' bot can be, so we don't have monstrous robots running around, and still claiming to be Stud-weights.

Google search "LDD Universe parts".
Because apparently its a 'rule' to not tell someone how to get the parts directly.
They either have to find the original page, or find the youtube video.

I'm pretty sure it is capable of holding its own weight and most of the joints work (feet, legs, arms, wrists, pincers, and neck). Its costs about $237.83.

Those Universe Parts are really cool. I'm tempted to make another big bot just so that I can use them.

"Constructogre" is a terrible name for this robot.
That's why he remains nameless:

I'm too lazy to make up part names.
But if I did, they would all probobly have 'Crush' in their names.

The only problem with the bionicle joints, is that half the time they get stuck on invisible(yes, the air blocks them), and really annoy the crap out of me when trying to pose them.
Other then that, LDD's new update is still really amazing.

FOTEPX, sorry to break it to you, but PEOPLE STILL CARE  . I happen to like seeing his creative Lego designs. Just because people haven't posted doesn't mean that people aren't still watching.

The red robot thing-a-ma-jig could use a little more color IMO. IIRC there was something with fingers like that up for download but I love the look. The head seems a little small for the body.

I disagree. I like the one to the right.
TOO MANY COLORS GODDAMNIT D:

Srsly, it looks messy. I'd rather use just black and white for example on it.

Searching for some of these parts was a pain. I am not going to bother searching for colours. Also, i dont really like small bots. Bigger ones make more possibilities. :)

I build these for fighting capability, not looks. Anyway, not everybody has 10,000 pieces of lego, sorted into colours Mr Jonzu!

As luck would have it, I found a bunch of my old lego bots the other day:
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/879102013-09-15 14.21.20.jpg)
I built these for mostly looks really, but I did like them to work like a real robot would. I didn't like how lots of the lego flipper bots I saw on the internet didn't have a flipper with a proper hinge bit, so all of mine had proper semi-working flippers. If I find any more maybe I'll show them too.

You can still build them into fighting capability. Imagination is the key.

I made mine to fight in the Robot Wars Minibot arena. I'll see if I can remake them tomorrow.

Nice touch with the CO2 tanks. The gap in the sides look weird, but other than that it looks really good.

Yeah, the flipper length is sacrificed for decoration. I have tried to extend it, but without the hazard stripes it just looks wrong.
Also, I have seen that non-combat robot LDD creations in this topic have also been popular so:

Two days of work and I made this:

Cruiser
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/16539LDDScreenShot9.png)

Command Ship:

Destroyer:

Don't mind the obvious fists. They don't exist.

Also, they do this:

Left to do:
Carrier(Legs/Waist)
Skimmer(Backpack)
