Badnik's sprite work.
« on: July 24, 2012, 04:57:33 PM »
So I decided to start a thread for my spriting. It's not amazing so far as I just started yesterday, but I think my first project is coming out pretty well. I've decided to make top-down sprites for each machine in F-Zero GX.

So here's my first sprite (not shaded at all sorry), the Dark Schneider.

Is it just me or does that seem a little long? Idk it just looks disproportionate compared to the actual thing which seems much shorter

Nope, it's the same length, it's just the perspective. Gazelle is meant to be a stick XD

Also if you notice, all machines use the same size image so I can make them on the same scale. One or two later on will need some widening to fit (Like Magic Seagull) but most will use that same size.

Maybe, if you found the right software, you might be able to make a fangame out of these.

That actually was the plan eventually. 027 went to a computer camp about 2 weeks ago and got some good game programming software. Once I get all the sprites done I'll install the program onto my laptop and see what I can do.

In that case, could you send it to me when you get it? I've been looking for the right software so I can start my MM fangame...

First I have to finish the other 37 machines, then I have to wait for 027 to finish the game he's working on (all he's told anyone is that it's a platformer, and he hasn't worked on it in weeks DX)

Nice job. By the way, can you tell me what the NASCAR GTM Cup is? I might be interested in joining it.

How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

It's already like a quarter of the way through, so you can't join it now sorry. Basically you tell me driver stats and car sponsors and stuff and I paint a car and all the cars race for a season. I'll message you on gameFAQs when the next season rolls around.

And thanks :D

but what kind of game programming software is it? c++? python?

I dunno, it's something on a disc. I'll try to explain it when I get it installed.

Iron Tiger:

Oooh, I like this. But I have some criticism for it too.

Maybe you can make the beak/top/wings a little brighter gray? They seem too dark when I look at the picture and back. Also, I think you should draw in the little scoops on the side of Iron Tiger, they're on top of the blue sides.

Also, if you can do this, it'd make it just a teeny little bit more detailed if you added the paint chips, scrapes and whatnot on the sprites

Looking fantastic so far, I must say. Although if you're planning on making it into a game, depending on what kind of game it is, you'll need to make them in different positions and so forth. Maybe diagonal sprites as well, or crashed ones, things of that nature. But it will probably be great if you can pull it off.

Nice sprites Badnik. :D
But yeah, you should make a game with these. (I'd prefer Game Maker)
