Well technically the tail/blade has 2 uses. It's a weapon, it slashes around with it for offense.
It also flies. :P It uses the tail for steering in the air. I have this schematic for this cheesy telescoping arm system that conceals pterodactyl-esque wings on the inside. Which is why the torso is bulkier than a t-rex supposedly had. I have this really bad drawing if you want to see what it looks like.
BTW, it wasn't based on a t-rex at all, so it's not supposed to have the same proportions or anything.

Well I did this in about 5 minutes. I think the wings should be longer, and his back has gotta hurt in that position...

Told ya it's bad. :P

I think the wings are fine. What it really needs is buffed-up shoulders to support the weight and make it actually capable of flapping them. :P

Scoliosisaurus!
The wings look good, but the rest of it is kinda problematic. The legs really look wrong for some reason.

Can I ask everyone a stupid question? When I scan anything I try to make, it comes out not as lines but as a ton of little dots arranged like lines. You can see this a bit in Reier's drawings, on very thin lines, but for me it's everything. I've tried to fix this via paint.net, and the best I can come up with is by repeatedly blurring and sharpening the image. This makes it smoother, but also thickens the lines quite a bit. I'm just using a #2 mechanical pencil, so I don't think that's the issue. Does anyone else have this problem, and can anyone tell me how to fix it?

You can also scan it in at really high resolution, despeckle, and shrink it down to 1/2 size.  A decent resizing program should merge those dots into a line.  I used ACDSee 7 for that.

@C33 I don't know.

Anyway:

Supposed to be that 'epic battle' in the story time thread between that Poseidon dude and some random members and robots. I gave up on it cause it had funky proportions, terrible wings, etc. There's another view of my avatar anyway for all both of you that were probably wondering. :P Comment if you want.
Off to draw more bionicle stuff! *vanishes*
