3.great one. but...
4. :thumbup :thumbup
5.great bot. how did you make 8 bot on arena?
6. :thumbdown and :thumbup

#1: At first glance, I thought it was a stock bot with the mud tires and caster. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's overweight. So if it is, how is it allowed?
#2: Very well constructed and the blueprint motif is a nice touch. The pictures hidden in the yellow side is the only thing that bothers me, but it's more so a nitpick than anything. Click maybe?
#3: I love how the components are reskinned with how it's built. Very well done.
#4: Honestly, I thought the font or the "Why, because I can" was in the font Papyrus. Yeah okay. The bot is still pretty good. Splash is mediocre to be honest.
#5: Something is telling me that Thrackerzod built this from how the skin and construction on the bot is done. Not entirely sure though.
#6: I love the originality, but the construction isn't the best to me, and the splash really could've been better.
Normally, I like to vote for one before I forget, but here, I can't decide on who to vote for. Might need more time to think a little more for this one.

me too
-
#1: Too simple for the taste of my mouth.
#2: Very well designed splash and bot, plus my pick
#3: I'm guessing that maz made it.
#4: Take some reason for me why I love models.
#5: Looking at the bot right now, it seems trackerzod material to me.
#6: A lot more for the bot and splash could have been done.
-
Guess I'll have a go at giving my opinions on each entry.
#1: The robot seems a little lackluster, in my opinion. As does the splash. Not terrible, just lackluster.
#2: This one looks very effective in combat! The image of the insides is a little hard to see, however that's essentially just a nitpick. Splash is very appealing too.
#3: This one looks brilliant! It looks like something that could've actually been made IRL! The splash, while simple, fits the robot very well.
#4: I'm trying my best to not be biased towards this one for... vehicular reasons... Anyway: the bot looks great, as does the title made for it; loving the 'SEGA' font. The splash is a bit "meh" though.
#5: This one looks quite cool, too! I love the editing done in the splash with the robot fighting it's opponents in multiple areas of the same arena, something that couldn't be possible in-game, what with only 4 bots in the arena in a match.
#6: This one certainly looks unique. Splash looks kinda good, although it has a little too much text for my liking. The title for the robot looks cool, though.
My vote goes to #3, it's just so beautifully constructed! I'm kind of a sucker for IRL bots too... :dumb)
-
Between #2 and #3 for me, both are very cool.
I think I'll have to flip a coin to decide between them...
-
Is #4 Thracker?
I quite like 2 and 3 but my vote will go to #3 because, although I really do appreciate the splash work for #2, I think I'd rather see #3 every time I logged on to GTM.
-
Vote for 3# I can't wait to see 3# win!

#1: At first glance, I thought it was a stock bot with the mud tires and caster. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's overweight. So if it is, how is it allowed?
It's 288.1 according to the splash and all the others are heavier than it, if anything it's underweight, unless you meant the ironforge weight standards but this is DSL(MW is 200-400 from what I remember, maybe 250?)
#4: I'm trying my best to not be biased towards this one for... vehicular reasons... Anyway: the bot looks great, as does the title made for it; loving the 'SEGA' font. The splash is a bit "meh" though.
You probably already know this, but this isn't exactly the Sega font, many different companies have been using it back in the day, but now it's only sega.
With that said, I do like 3's IRL look the most, now if it only had side protection(also I guess the chassis is only the very tiny black metal part in the middle?

I actually did not know that. Interesting...

Certainly looking like #3 is everyone's favorite so far, isn't it?

Oops. That part completely slipped from my mind when I wrote that. My bad. :/
-
#2 for me. Looks sick. We need to have more DSL 2.2 BOTM's.
-
All in on 3.
-
#1 No.
#2 Cool
splash but not my favorite out of all of them
#3 I'm voting for this or 6
#4 This isn't GT!
#5 What about its diarrhea?
#6 I like this bot mainly because It's a Replica of the Dutch RW Vortex Inducer and the splash is cool. But VI was a HW not MW
So either 3 or 6
-
Wowie! We didn't get a terrible memebot this month!
Alright, here's some thoughts:
1. ehhh
2. Cool bot and a well-made splash. A solid contender.
3. Very clean bot and splash. IRL-style usually doesn't do much for me, but this one's very nice.
4. Nice model, and well put-together splash. The bottom left picture reminds me of my Mr. Bones splash.
5. Text is kinda messy, but maybe that's the idea? The multiple-fights-edited-together is pretty cool.
6. Why is all the text crossed out? I do like "The AI probably can't use it" - that seems like something I'd put on one of my own splashes.

#3 <3

#1- boring bot, boring splash
#2- I like the splash. Gives me a portal vibe.
#3- Interesting bot, but the splash let's it down, personally
#4- Sega references, kek.
#5- eh. Doesn't interest me. Sorry.
#6- ooh, the purples mix together really well, and the bot seems interesting to fight with.
I'm going with either #2, #4, or #6
Edit: Forgot my guesses at people
#1- WenXiang
#2- Click?
#3- DG?
#4- Thrackerzod
#5- BobyAsian?
#6- Naryar?

#1 Honestly, I've seen entries with less effort put into it than this one. Still has no place in botm.
#2 It has a neat looking splash. However, SOMEONE put the sledgehammers the wrong side and now i can't unsee it. It's not badly built, but it's nothing exceptional designwise and a bit splash of the month-y.
#3 I guess ? This ain't an IRL botm, though. We should have IRL-only BOTM's instead of mixing building styles.
#4 Another average entry. Not especially bad artbot, but not especially exciting either.
#5 Yet another average entry. It's the only DSL-S bot. It's semi-original in having angled VS and using axes, but the skin clashes with the axes's color. But yet... it's not especially attractive.
Also who the hell uses 45kg on MW wedges ?
#6 Not a very good splash or presentation, however, it's a VS, on a vertically moving servo, on a horizontally moving servo. So why the hell not.
So yeah. Gonna vote for 6 because it's the most interesting design.
Also so many average entries. Wish I entered, but I keep forgetting and procrastinating D:

A replica in botm? Never heard of this before.
I really like 4 stegs though

brilliant joke gg :thumbdown

#1 poor but i think it's their first botm entry so it's not that bad.
#2 probably the best built of all the entries. great splash as well.
#3 not really a fan of irl but this does look cool
#4 mr bones wild vroom vroom
#5 i dont think it needs three wedges.
#6 Interesting design. has piglets for drive and is a little messy imo.
-
Well, 2nd isn't too bad. At least someone thought I was Click again. I spent so long on the splash which is based on the Bourne Identity box art which I don't think anyone noticed. But I couldn't think of a cool bot design so just threw that thing together.
Congratulations to the Steg bot builder. It's super cool even if the Splash is lacking imo. (It's Bot of the Month, not Splash of the Month after all).
-
Oh, this ended? Didn't notice. Well done to... whoever made #3! Sorry, it doesn't say who made what bot; not sure if it's supposed to.
I'm actually amazed mine got any votes at all. I made bot and the splash in about 4 hours and just procrastinated on Need For Speed for the rest of the deadline. Reeeeeeeeeallllly didn't put much as much thought as I probably should've into the bot.
By the way, the title in my splash was referencing this;
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/49503Night Kids Logo.png)
That also prompted all of the strikethroughs in the text. I probably overdid it, in hindsight.
-
Given how this is over and how I probably won't stay here for long I might as well say this a bit late:
I made 1. and knew how bad it was.
After seeing that a next BOTM contest is up I didn't think about joining it since I'm not good at DSL, however after seeing some BOTMs I thought I might as well do something so we have something to judge other than joke/meme boxes with no content in it, wasn't until the last day that I worked on this thing, yet for some reason it's still listed first(unless the list is alphabetical).
The original concept was to build something like Wild Thing's Series 6 version, being able to drive both ways up while having a disc on the front.
In the end it didn't work out at all, combat peformance is terrible, can't run upside down(originally wanted to add wheels but anchors wouldn't work out well and keep it off balance, the other support wheels from DSL would of course allow no clipping so it just ended up with one caster wheel. Wasn't until the last minute where I noticed that the bot still had 4 useless baseplate anchors in it so I had to redo the screenshots as well(looking at it now I really should've put a big and a small battery on one side and a big + control board on the other)and it wasn't until I already sent it in that I noticed that it uses Mudrunner's tyres(since everything else was too small, only bike wheels would've fit on it, but hell no as if I would put those on there), guess that didn't break the AI rule in the end as those parts are unlocked by default.
The wheel distance isn't even symmetrical(so one wheel almost sticks out), if it wasn't for the angle that the screenshots were taken in it wouldn't have looked as well as it did. I think the best thing about it is the fact that the disc spins at crazy fast speeds and the paintjob.

Alright, the results are posted and it looks like Thyrus won this month. Congratulations, Thyrus! Also, thank you to everyone that participated this month.
-
Yeah.. it was me. I thought this bot screamed 'Thyrus' so much but meh. Thanks for voting guys :)
-
R01? Why your Bot has no vote?

I had one look at the bot and thought "oh hey there thyrus"
