I thought of an Idea for a contest. Here's what happens. 3 builders are selected (they don't have to be the best builders, even LRA2 could sign up), Each one makes a robot (it cannot be one already seen before), any weight class, any robot type in stock or DSL.
The builders make a splash of the robot, without a name. When they are finished, the builders send me the splash and I post it. you have until a certain date to submit a name idea. I will look at the name suggestions, and choose the ones that I think are the best. I will post the winners in another thread

How you determine the winner bot? The one with most name votes? <-- wouldnt make sense.

No, the winner is the person who come up for the best name for a bot (i.e. if one user comes up with the best name for the bot, their name idea will be the name for that bot). I will only allow 1 name by one user (i.e. if LRA2 makes 3 good name ideas, only one can be chosen, unless someone comes up with a better name for it, to make it fair).

Lol, I never do... I always come up with a name while in painting the bot... :P

How about we do it 2 ways:

A person makes a name and people make a bot using the exact name and we vote, BOTM style.

A person makes a bot and people add a name and we vote, BOTM style.

If you where to do it the way that S32 said then really it is a spin on bot of the month. I think its a good idea.

That is actually a pretty good idea. It's an interesting challenge making a bot based only on a name. It has to be a cool sounding, interesting, and/or bizarre name though. Like "Obstacle Force" or "Corn Flakes Box of Doom". Or "Spinner from the west II"

Making a bot based on a name like "Destroyer" would kind of defeat the purpose.

Yeah. That's why I'd like it. Or, we can rotate each time. So we'd have the "Name that bot" thing first, then we'd have that "Build to the name" thing second.

we could always talk to ACAMS to have those extra options added to the current building competition options ? you know how the winner of Bot Skinning Competition 4 got the chance to run the next one ?
