Keeping with tradition, December is going to be an anything goes BOTM with a Christmas theme.
Here's how this works. Every participant creates a bot that follows the given bot restrictions for that month. They then create a simple splash for their bot and uploaded it to GTM's BOTM Uploader before the deadline expires. After the deadline expires, a poll will be created for the community to vote on their favorite entry. At the end of the month, the splash with the most votes will be put on GTM's homepage for a month.
Bot Restrictions
Splash Rules- Must be Christmas themed
- Entries must be uploaded using the BOTM Uploader
- One bot per splash
- One splash per member
- Please do not put anything in that identifies you as the creator. Credit will be given after the poll to reduce bias and give people a chance to guess who made what.
- There must be at least one image of the insides in the splash
- The weight must be given in the splash
- Images must be either JPG, PNG, or GIF.
- Images must be no wider than 700px and no taller than 800px
- Entries must be in by November 26, 2014 at 11:59 PM Central Standard Time (GMT - 5:00) so that we can spent the rest of the month voting.
Please upload your entries using the BOTM Uploader within 0 seconds... Better luck next time, it looks like this contest isn't taking new entries anymore..
Questions/comments?

I thought this would be a Christmas themed BOTM since that's been a tradition since the first December BOTM in 2008. I guess I'll give it a try.
-
Fixed.
-
I have a terrible idea for this which will probably not work.
-
I'll give it a shot.
-
Will enter if I don't forget until the deadline again.
-
Should be interesting to see what ridiculous contraptions come out of this.
(pretty sure I can't enter myself because won last BotM)
-
i shalt enter. definitely. maybe. probably
not.
-
I have a very, very silly idea for a bot. I will probably enter.
-
i have a great idea

you absolutely can enter. Repeat wins are perfectly acceptable.

There used to be a rule that the winner of the last BOTM couldn't enter. However, I believe they got to choose what was the rules would be.

I dropped that rule because it resulted in more work for me and it didn't help with the numbers. Suggestions for future contests should be made in the BOTM Ideas and Discussion (https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=3166.0) thread.

Imo it would be better to have the winner choose the next botm, as it gives a reason to enter

Oh the hilarity that would ensue from that...
-
I think the winner choosing the next botm and not being allowed to enter ruined the whole contest.
-
I think winner chooses next BOTM, and is allowed to enter it, is a great idea.
Sure it produces things like Joeblo winning 7 BOTM's in a row but hey, it will make people want to compete and win.

As long as we can drag get Joeblo back to hell GTM, then anything is fine =D

I'd rather not complicate things further by having winners pick the next month's theme. People had a tendency of not getting back to ACAMS and the BOTMs with overly complicated bot restrictions never seemed to get as many entries.
Anyways, there is a little over a week left so people need to get there entries in soon if they plan on participating this month.

Just give the winners a deadline. If you dont want overly complicated bot restrictions you should tell the winner they cant have that as a botm.

I have a great idea. If I could just get off my arse and build my first bot in months though...
-
pfffft you aren't going to win against my excellent idea
-
pfffft you aren't going to win against my excellent idea
Considering how the last BOTM went, I wouldn't be too surprised if you take 3rd place again.

lol i had an idea to get more votes

Its not too late to get an entry in. There is still a little more than a day left before the deadline.
-
I don't think I'll be entering this time.
I've had a couple of ideas but everything so far just looks crappy. Don't really enter anything sub-standard.
