- Realistic rule does not apply.

- Don't seek for loopholes.
>>>> DO NOT PM THE LINK, I will know where it is and the uploader will tell you it uploaded, or give an error! <<<<
-
This is so so restrictive. It's tough enough to make a Stock UHW in my opinion, let alone not letting it/skins/splashes be 'lame' or 'nooby'. I predict 2 or 3 entries..
I might try if the lame/nooby restrictions were not in place as I can't built efficiently, neither can I skin well or make splashes.
-
>Stock UHW
I give up.
-

Don't worry, just enter, the noob/lame restrictions are basically for a people like a RedlineM203, that want to enter with stuff like this :

Maybe because it was a complete joke?
-
Maybe because it was a complete joke?
Well, no joke bots for this one
Also, even if I win again, I will not determine the next BotM. A promise!
-
It was a rare stray from being serious with my gaming. Let me have some fun once in a while x)
As for this BOTM, probably won't be able to enter. Got thoughts of what to do but I can barely build to 1200kg, let alone 3000.
-
The only other stock UHW botm had 2 entries: A joke bot and a messy piece of trash. needless to say the joke bot won. I predict the second unanimous BoTM victory in 3 months.
-
^glad to know you thought my bot was trash
i might enter this if i had enough attention span to make something more than 800 kg
-
I predict the second unanimous BoTM victory in 3 months.
I predict you are going to be wrong......
-
You know, if you guys are having a hard time, multibots are allowed.
-
I plan to enter. It should be obvious to everyone which one is mine, but should be fine otherwise.
-
Stock UHW ? Hell yeah. I may enter if I find the motivation.
- Don't seek for loopholes.
ohohohohoho i am going to have a field day with this rule.
-
>No noob bots
Why?
I mean, you can't really eat up a lot of weight to get it qualified unless the chassis is awkwardly large.
Hell, its Ultra weight, so they need all the perks n' junk they can get in order to make use of all that weight.
Not complaining or anything, just saying that makes it a little counter productive.
Either way, I might enter this.
-
You know, if you guys are having a hard time, multibots are allowed.
- The bot must be between 3000 and ∞ kg.
A NO NO! Even with a lack of a line defining this, it's forbidden by the red text, since it's "bot" not "bot/bots" or "bots".
Take this rules literally and don't seek for a loopholes.
As for Naryar, for example, using a square extenders to gain weight instead of red/black ones it's LEGAL, it's not a loophole. Also, using other cheap tactics as unnecessary thousand batteries and so, for example, ARE OK. You can use cheap tricks in the components choice, but still have to make your bot BATTLE efficient (NOT WEIGHT EFFICIENT).
Feel free to ask what is legal and what not.
-
I could have sworn I saw a "/s" there.
...must be the wind.
Still can't enter though, sadly. Too much effort and too little time. :<
-
...Still can't enter...
Don't worry ;) , You will just save some lost for nothing time. I don't want to discourage people or something, but do You all realize, that I'm famous for my UHWs, and trying to beat me will be like trying to beat Ianh in a AW contest... If You get my point
-

but do You all realize, that I'm famous for my UHWs, and trying to beat me will be like trying to beat Ianh in a AW contest... If You get my point
I'm easily beatable, just need more entries :P
-

You are an AW lover and guru. I was like this for UHW, that's why I built like ~30 of them. I think, that I can send You a 1 or 2 unique AWs for your pack, if I found some time to skin them, I don't have much AWs that are not a 1 WD HS...
-
I haven't done to well in AW tournaments and had a 50/50 chance of winning the 2 AW design contests :) I do like AW's and build LOTS of them but I don't think I'm that good at building combat effective ones as I strive for being creative with them which is why you won't see many stacked rammers from me in my showcase.
A few examples of people who could easily top me in AW's:
*NFX: made XOR, a really great AW which is both unique and combat effective.
*Pwnator: made Dipper, a unique and combat effective AW.
*ClickBeetle: Made Soul Weevil, a destructive drill and a motorised hammer AW which is yet to be AI'd properly but should be deadly and very unique.
That being said, I think it's obvious this BOTM is a little out of my comfort zone :)
-
Sometimes You build bots for fun and pleasure, even if they are not the most combat efective in the world, I have lots of bots like this, even unshowcased, due to lack of time.
[/end of spam, back on topic]
-
I need to stop being lazy and finish the other half of my bot since I got halfway through building it :V
-
I don't think you should be allowed to enter and/or win a BOTM that you decided the rules on, otherwise it just gets unfair. Also you should've clarified 'no multibots' in the rules. A multibot is a singular bot, it doesn't count as 2 entries in a tournament for example. It's not a loophole.

ACAMS is judging this, not You...

Yeah, because it's fair that someone makes a robot perfectly fine with the rules in the OP and then you say "ITS NOT LEGAL YOU HAVE TO MAKE NEW ROBOTS".
-
I had to add this "anti-multi bot" line, just all things to be clear, but how I can edit the ACAMS post?

Quite simple really - you can't. If this were your topic, you could, but even then it would be completely unfair for you to change accepted rules a good ten days after they have been up just because you made an oversight, in my opinion.

8 days later, I was off town to fix that earlier. Still there is a plenty of time to enter on the other hand.
-
This is BOTM not a tournament, if no one has entered then I see no reason for him not to be able to change the rules.
-
...They are also missing the "Anything I'm missing guys?" part in the tournament posts, wich I didn't have here.

Quit putting yourself above every damn person here just because you have a freakin' purple name. You've been away so long that a lot of us members have actually had more time active here than you, 'vet'.
-
Here we go with vet hate again.
-
Oh, vets are fine, just as long as they can pull their act together and not try to pull the rug from under peoples feet by changing the rules for no real reason.
You forgot to put a rule in and didn't notice until it's too late, Venko. Everyone does it, i've done it. You just have to live with it.
-
I have nothing against vets at all, Ian, honest. I have stuff against people who act like they're something special. Vet's have earned the title by being part of the community for an extended period of time, and I think everybody here respects that. It's just when people start making their own hierarchy.
-
You forgot to put a rule in and didn't notice until it's too late, Venko.
The only thing that I didn't noticed is how people can interpret the word "bot" into "multi bots"...
As for Craaig, his post seems to lays on some personal or vet hate basis, as I only point out two facts (the one in red) and he freak out. What the member activity or the rank has to do with all this? Is something with my english wrong so I sound "above every damn person here" when posting opinions?
-
A lot of people here sound above everyone else, not just vets just so you guys know. There are people here that seem to gang up on people like a "cool group" in school yards.
If anything I'd say the vets are the most well behaved group, Sage, Scrap Daddy, Pwnator etc.
-
Yeah, maybe it's this, I also noticed that the people that grudge me in a few topics are the same members, mostly a new users that don't know me from the 2008. But should this kind of acts be punished by the admins?
-
Don't worry Venko, one incident with me in 7 or so years and I'm labelled as a drama queen on the wiki

Oh, I have this one + forum arsonist, back in 2008 for defending my different opinion against the mainstream, so they are not the first to try me... Altho a "cool group" ganging me up IRL, will lost a tooth or two per member
-

Multibots have been around since the dawn of man, quite frankly. BBEANS 2 back in the day being a notable example (Sabre. (https://gametechmods.com/RA2wiki/index.php?title=Sabre))
In general, if the arena is capable of taking 4 robots, and the rules specifically don't state "No Multibots Allowed", then it's safe to say that you can enter a multibot into a tournament. I've entered multibots into BOTMS where it hasn't said anything about multibots and ACAMS has let it fly just fine. It's an unwritten law, if you will.
An unwritten law that doesn't need changing, thank you very much.

This is not a tournament, and there is no arena.

He has, but I don't for this one.
An unwritten law that doesn't need changing, thank you very much.
Since it's unwritten, then I can change it for this BotM ;)
And mostly, quit following me in the topics to grudge with me, in the new uberstack discussion, in the new tournament rule, in this BotM debate. Posting nice words in my showcase won't change the obvious - You hate or jealous me for something that I don't understand... Don't say it's not true, You can't fool me that You have something against me personally. And remember, You are not the person that will say what will change and what will stay.
-
OK, Cut the crap and get building!
-
So we can use noobish things to fill up weight but not enter noob bots? I'm confused now...
-
Why would you ban 140 square extenders when you don't even have a maximum weight limit? It's not like people are trying to "save weights".......
-
Because they're custom components, are they not ?
-
Because they're custom components, are they not ?
No.
The .gmf file and the .txt file are in the game.
-

No.
The .gmf file and the .txt file are in the game.
Wasn't there some modification about that txt file ? Doesn't it make it a custom component ?
Does it not break the game when you can use 5kg for a super-long extender ?
-
Isn't the general rule: If you have to ask about something it's probably a loophole.
-
Isn't the general rule: If you have to ask about something it's probably a loophole.
...No ? It can simply be a misunderstanding or a clarification.
Besides, rules are set up now. This is a pointless fight. Doesn't mean you can't just fight it to sate your battle lust though.
-
So we can use noobish things to fill up weight but not enter noob bots? I'm confused now...
Yes, using a tricks to gain a kilo or two is one thing, but the overall fighting efficiency of a bot is something different. Also the "no noob bots" rule is for a very noob combat unefficient bots.
Why would you ban 140 square extenders when you don't even have a maximum weight limit? It's not like people are trying to "save weights".......
Nar is right here, they are not banned from other places as well for nothing. You want them, because your bots highly depends on them. The rules are posted, so no point of discussing the allowance of the 140 extenders here. So, everyone cut the spam.
Also, at general, I think that, a good SHW-UHW builder wouldn't need a multi bot, or a cheap tricks and loopholes, or a weight gain tricks, or whatever, I for example, never used any of these for my UHWs and I have a lot of them...
-
The only person here other than you who build UHWs regularly is Enigma, and he build DSL and isn't even here anymore.
-

No.

You have to add it to the styles list in the normal square extender txt file. I mean the .txt file is already even in the styles folder :V

This challenge is specifically 3000kg to unlimited, I don't see how weighting less is an advantage.
And no, I have no intention of entering or changing the rules, I just said it because the rule seem extremely unnecessary in this case.
-
I just said it because the rule seem extremely unnecessary in this case.
At first, my idea for the rules was, they to be damn strict, so no any size square extenders at all (140 or less) or any other weight gain tricks, and the bots to must have an enormous effectiveness. Then I realized that I want other people to be able to enter besides me, so I allow the "weight gain" components. Disallowing the 140 is actually a favour to all, since it saves weight, but for most people is hard to gain weight ;)
So everyone, better start using the 120 square extender any soon if You want to fill up to 3000.
-
Get them in ..... you have one more day!
-
Get them in ..... you have one more day!
DAWN OF THE FINAL DAY~
I mean....
-
Finished my bot just in time. Let's just say I am not that happy with it. :dumb)
