I am officially moving to the UK

Does this mean we can't upload RA2 stuff anymore? I sense the end of GTM...

This is the internet, where shit like this rarely affects they way we do things.

What this probably will do is make Youtube even more of a hard-ass as far as copyrights go, so this means I should probably start looking for a new video sharing website.

This better not pass because if it does I can't watch MLP:FiM and my Youtube channel will be pretty much f***ed because more than half the people that view my vids and channel are from the US.

If that where to pass then you'll have hundreds and up protesting just due to the fact the law came to there door saying they did that. Granted there are something up there that are still for sale for movies and such but hey, taking the freedom of watching stuff on line (cause youtube is used way to often for this to really work) I'm sure thats not going to go over well with the population.

They think they can regulate the internet.

Congress, you so crazy.

Conspiracy Theory from me

I think many senates in congress wants to control the internet in general.  While the government can surely "stop the whole damn thing", they are currently incapable of doing so selectively in large scale.  These sort of stuffs allow a foot in the door to develop the mean of "search and remove", so they can selectively control whatever media online in the future.

I only have one thing to say about that law:

Bull. Sh*t.

It's a pointless law created by people who think they own the place.

Next thing they'll be doing is making a law that states that going on the Internet is an offence >.>

They simply want control, but when will they learn they aren't going to get it.
Pirate bay is a great example of how you can't control the internet.

Fighting internet piracy is like trying to throw coco-pops at a rabbit in a highly windy area

It just wont work and if you finally succeed.. its not going to achieve much..

Government had known to do pretty brunt and stupid things in the past.  Just because something will cause more harm then good in a long run, does not mean they won't try to do it.  And whatever they do tends to be very heavy handed.

This is especially true in the US and most representative democracy, where the optimal decision is to think as short term as possible due to election cycles.  As long as it looks like they are "doing something about it", it's good enough.  Let the next guy take the blame for the downfall.

However, don't underestimate the extend government will invade your privacy.

When the government does it, they will carpet bomb the area with thousands of boxes worth of coco-pops.  And if no rabbit was hit they will put a few fake ones in there.

Disregard that "YT will be illegal" bullsh**, acquire knowledge of the PROTECT IP act. It's some scary sh**, and if I were living in the US, I'd be protesting.

Average age of a senator is 60 and of a house member is 55 according to this.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15348258/ns/politics/t/grayest-congress/ (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15348258/ns/politics/t/grayest-congress/)

Everybody should go ask their grandpa how much they know about the internet. That is the same amount of knowledge that everyone one of those Congressmen have. Should they really be making these decisions???

I'm willing to bring this to court if I could/had the money.
This is as stupid as the RIAA suing average joe's because they downloaded a song off of like Napster or some sh*t.
These people are complete hypocrites. I can almost guarantee that some of the people that are in there 20's that work for the RIAA have downloaed AT LEAST  one song illegally. Phuck the RIAA and phuck Protect IP.
You don't take down the Internet, the Internet takes down you.
Oh yeah, and Anonymous is already DDoS'ing the US chamber of commerce's website.
