I'm thinking of buying some gun model kits; hopefully ones that look realistic enough to scare away a house intruder, do those count as weapons?

And I haven't had any luck finding any; they had some in the "Haruhi" anime; the logos on the boxes resembled Tamiya, but when I searched Tamiya's website IRL I couldn't find any gun models.

Sure thing. The skinny side is about 5 in, the wide side is about 6.5 in. I used this piece to practice cutting,welding it back together, and grinding (that's where the gold parts came from)

With some clever cutting, welding and grinding, you could make something similar to the Machete Gladius (http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/10/103221/1723241-machete_gladius_super.png) from Fallout: New Vegas.

Buy a cheap harbor freight 90A welder. Second best tool investment I made.

But that doesn't even the same thing D:

The CLU is a bit larger than an old computer monitor and the missile is about as long as I am tall IIRC
