Thing of the Week
« on: August 23, 2011, 02:05:42 PM »
I thought this might be a bit of fun, something to keep us talking about new stuff all the time. You PM me your nomination for the 'Thing of the Week', followed by a paragraph stating why you think it should be the topic we discuss on this thread. I will go through the PMs on Sundays, and the 'TotW' will be announced on Monday. I will quote your PM as part of the announcement, so be careful what you write. I will only be taking this week's nominations until Thursday, Noon (GMT), because I leave on holiday then, and I'm just going to do a quick test for this week. The announcement will be made by G.K. on Friday, and will be on some other weeks when I'm not around.

Well, PM your nominations to me, and we'll see how this goes.

EDIT: BTW, the 'TotW' can be absolutely anything, as long as your argument for it stands. It can be an object, a place, a game, a video or a series on YouTube, a news article, a website, even a GTM member. So, there's a few ideas for you.

Ever so slightly belated, but here is Friday's announcement:

Welcome to the first ever 'TotW' announcement. The official 'Thing of the Week is...
The Big Red Button - nominated by Hydro.
Here is his post:
(Image removed from quote.)

The big red button is not to be ****ed with, it is some bad sh**.

The   Big Red Button is a tool of destruction, evil lair design, and   trolling. Therefore, it is used by the likes of all evil villains,   rocket engineers, Naryar, and people on the chatbox.
So, feel free to discuss the Big Red Button here on the 'Thing of the Week' thread.
So, until next week, goodbye from me and G.K.
 :)BRBN

Nominations for next Monday go until Sunday September 4th, noon GMT, so please PM IRW for those.

Discussion now open!

How did moldy bread not win?
Coffee Creamer > Moldy Bread
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

Surely, people are going to be looking for Big Red Buttons, and attempting to stop people from pressing them. Why not swap it for a small blue switch and throw people off the scent?

You can post suggestions every week. If your argument is more convincing each time, it'll win eventually.

I would think reading was a standard skill at our school. SM being an exception, of course.
