f(x)=px^3 + 6x^2 + 12x + q
Given that the remainder when f(x) is divided by (x-1) is equal to the remainder when f(x) is divided by (2x+1)
a) Find the value of p.
b)Given that q=3 and p has the value found in part (a), find the value of the remainder.
I can do the divisiony stuff, the way the questions are written confuses me. :P

I think its more along the lines of not knowing how to get to each step tbh. I'm sorely tempted to multiply the given brackets together and find what multiplies that to get to 12x, but thats probably wrong >.<

I don't know why you'd need help with that, it's a one-step operation with a graphing calculator. I don't have mine on me, but if we assume that that number is a perfect cube, the answer must end in 1.
A little trial and error on the computer's built-in calculator reveals the answer to be 31.

Seriously though, maths is probably my weakest point, I can't be arsed with it as it chokes out creativity and has no real purpose, so I gave up trying at it a while ago.
And slayer sucks :P Well, to be fair they've just got a more minor case of dragonforce dissease, every song sounds the same after a while.

A very camp moron in my class said sorry for interupting me in class today, and said he didn't want to get in the way of me listening to slipknot.
I then went off on a rant about how slipknot sucks and why I listen to stuff like dream theater instead.
Then the teacher started to get a bit angry, so I backed down because I was already close to a detention anyway for being 20 minutes late to the lesson because I was doing, other stuff, untill this bitch teacher caught me and followed me upstairs to my class, and then I presume told my teacher.
But still, all was o.k because I just sat at the back of the class and drank diet pepsi, and then later listened to music for a bit (as referenced before).
Now why have I gone off on this huge rant, why, it's because I'm explaining to you what an average lesson should be like for you :P
And stagfish gets +1 for listening to metallica which I didn't realise he did.

Division is nothing more than multiplication of fractions, so let's rewrite your problem.
(Fish/1) * (1/5) * (Fish/1) = (Fish/1)(Fish/1) * (1/5) = (Fish/1)^2 * (1/5) = ((Fish^2)/5)
