I has teh interwebz back yaaaaay!

Anyways, I really doubt that Purolator wants to sponsor a tourney a RA2 tourney, as it does nothing for their product. If no one has already, a response should be sent that:

a) Thanks them for their interest in the great sport of robotic combat.
b) Clairifies that the Gametechmods community, while we are all fans of real combat robotics, is based around a computer game and very few members have the required time, money, resources and skills to build real-world robots.
c) Suggests that if they really intend to sponsor a tourney, point them in the right direction as to who to contact (perhaps the links that SKBT posted and/or MikeNCR).
d) *optional* Apologize that we were unable to provide a name as to who to contact for possible sponsorships, only point them in the right direction (modesty like this works well in small doses).
e) Mention at how thrilled their new fans in the GTMs community would be at the support of robotic combat events.
f) Thank them once again for their intrest in combat robotics, and consequent co-promotion of the sport with their products, and how appreciative we are.

Before anyone goes off to write something like this, do you guys think such a response is a good idea? And (for Jack, ACAMS or anyone who has been handling communication with Purolator) has a response similar in nature to this one already been sent?

I would write this, but I'm moving the next couple of days so time is sparse for the next little while. It would be best if Jack wrote it for consistency's sake. If you do JD, please PM me a copy before it gets sent off - I'd really like to edit/proofread/revise it a little.

Just think about an actual commercial on TV for GTM or tournament. If they do sponsor a tournament or there's a commercial, they should use that really cool B.B.E.A.N.S. montage. At the end of the add there could be a spokes person that says "Get Robot Arena 2 now or get more information at gametechmods.com."

what about getting permission from Atari?

We don't own RA2.

Infogrames was bought out by Atari some time ago.
