Well, I want GTM to be a place for those passionate about the RA2 series of games to meet, give tips, etc. So, how do we fix gtm to be like that?

Wow, this is some serious autism we've got brewing in this here thread. Y'all should invest in a nice long peice of rope, and some tying lessons.

What is people's obsession with suicide here? Mostly with the method of hanging, it appears.

Look, I'm not saying I'm a technological genius that could build any good bots in real life (although I probably could, given money, google, and a little bit of time), but, frankly, I wouldn't want to battle bots made of smarties tins against, y'know, ACTUAL BOTS.

There is no denying at this point that ra2 will continue its slow descent further and further into obscurity. What I want to know is, as interest in this game continues to wane, what can we adjust to keep people coming back? We will always be an RA2 community but should we readjust  our focus somewhat?

Maybe a special tournament that can be the equivalent to a BBEANS7?  It's up to the audience to make a choice if they are up for it or not, I know, but I can't think of anything else that would sure as hell make me interested in RA2.

I suppose, if RA3 is any good, we'd become an 'RA' community and then we can have a whole new focus. If we can't rely on RA3, then I'm not sure. RedAce's idea is good if everyone else gets on board with it and I suppose there may be a divide based on the metagame.

This is a good point, but what can we really do to keep people coming back? The one thing that has kept me coming back is just having fun sh**posting, and some cool people in this community. But what else? I know this keeps me coming back, as i have lost most of my interest in robot arena 2, especially after ironforge did not really get the success i think it deserved, but I know this will not apply to everyone.  I suppose maybe we could have more real robotics, but then there are many other forums that do that, like robotwars101.org and fightingrobots.co.uk. I think we should really consider this if we want to keep gtm alive. One idea I had was to do a proper online tournament on gameranger, just for the fun of it, if people are up for that, and if it works we could keep it into a regular thing. I know people hate the lag, but one big part of robot combat that the AI tournaments miss is driving skill, which online tournaments bring back. Another idea is to do a big BBEANS style tournament, maybe make it an official gtm tournament.
