Just picked up a little bit of nostalgia in a "Free" pile at the local high school...

Time to re-live some nostalgia...  Off to play, Full Throttle, Myth, Warcraft 2, Starcraft, and any of my old Mac Games that I still have kicking around <3

I used to play this on the school's mac.  This was the coolest thing back in the 90s.  I don't have a mac but maybe those of you who do will enjoy this

Brings back the old days

Something that ACTUALLY brings back the old days

Having the Orignial DS back in 2005 with Super Mario 64 DS
Old Stock Showcase: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=6590.0

I've moved to other forums. Under a different name. This is where it all began.

This is old stuff.
The Good::

Mimsie was considered one of the cutest mascots for a production company.

The Bad:

In 1988 Mimsie died.

The Ugly:

Mimsie is replaced by White Shadow, a calico cat.

Actually, my session of reliving Warcraft 2 lasted all of about 15 minutes... The damn machine is too fast scrolls like a boss on LSD.  (400Mzh Woot!)  But, seriously, I turned the scroll speed down to as low as possible and it still is kinda un-playable because it is too fast.

Doesn't matter... the next game on my list was Myth and now I am in love with that game all over again.  :D

Nostalgia'd all over the place. Armored Core is definitely one of the greatest game series' ever, even if the newest release was a total disappointment
I should've been Japanese, what with my mech obsession and such

Heh, there were three.  A Bondi-Blue 1st gen 233Mhz with the old tray CD Rom (decided against this one because pulling the motherboard from the 1st gens is a B*tch) But they also had a Bondi 3rd gen just like the purple one that I snagged with the slot-load CD Rom and a much easier Motherboard to access.  All of them were covered in stickers... Like "Spanish Class"  "Room B" etc etc etc... Took me damn well near 2 hours just to WD40 all the stickers off the machine to make it look new again.  :P

A computer in the free pile?  Damn, do you live near some special high school for billionaires?

It is quite the opposite... The school is poorly funded but the computer teachers are idiots and they don't have an IT person.  So, rather than install a clean version of Ubuntu on these machines and teach kids a little about linux they just cast them away.  It is unfortunately common.

Those old Cartoon Network shows....
Dexter's Laboratory
Johnny Bravo
Cow & Chicken
I Am Weasel
Powerpuff Girls
Ed, Edd, 'n', Eddy
Courage the Cowardly Dog

Why are they not on Cartoon Network these days? The new shows (i.e. Johnny Test and the Marvelous Misadventures of Flap Jack) and CN Real suck, except Regular Show and Adventure Time.

I remember seeing an Anonymous-esque raid in 2000.  General Mills likes to run vote-based promotions on election years, and in that year, thet had kids vote for what kind of coins they wanted to have in the Cocoa Puffs boxes. The mascot Sonny (NOT where I got my username from) was campaigning against two obvious joke candidates - an elephant and a donkey.  The elephant and the donkey were offering plain metal coins with their respective faces, whilst Sonny was offering chocolate coins.  The "election" was done via online poll with no vote-limiting mechanism.  Obviously they intended for the chocolate coins to win, but before long, the ratio was something like 10:7:5 in favor of the elephant!  I was 10 at the time and I thought that that kind of social deviance was just about the funniest thing ever!  I pitched in a little too.

Eventually they scrapped the online poll and made it so that you could only vote with a ballot found in the cereal box.

Here's some good nostalgia for everyone.

Battlebots was cancelled 10 years ago.
I built that big robot on that TV show that time
