I am currently battling this stupid virus and i was just curious to see how if at all it has affected anyone else here on the forum. I have influenza A which is a similar strain to H1N1 although i don't know if it's the actual H1N1 or just the similar Flu A strain because there is no test for H1N1. Anyways this is just out of curiosity, and i am making a survey of sorts for psychology so i would be most great full if you could answer the survey truthfully. THANKS.

huh
I've had the flu but not influenza.
-
They're the same thing.
-
It was a joke. Some person I know really said that. XD
-
Thank god you were joking Reier!
Anyways, I had Influenza B (I think it was B) a while back. Not fun. Those pescky viruses sure are annoying.
-
@Gameking I think the difference betwwen the normal flu and the H1N1 is with the H1N1 you keep a fever for like 7 days because I had the Flu like last month and was worried that I had H1N1 and my mom told me you keep a fever for like 7days and you vomitt alot. Luckily I didn't have it:smiley:.

There is no sure fire way to know whether you have H1N1 or another influenza strain. Symptoms are rarely a good way to distinguish between closely realted viral strains, especially because symptoms like a fever vary in intensity and duration from person to person.
-
Yea i got tested and i was told i had Flu A which is a similar strain to H1N1. But there is no way to tell for sure but it is defiantly respiratory i have not been vomiting or anything like that. But i do have Fever, Coughing, Soar throat, Congestion, Aching body, headache, and my lungs are constantly burning. Although my fever has started to break because of the medicine.
@Urjak I don't really know the difference between Flu A and B other then they are different strains and that A is supposedly more similar to H1N1 then B.
@Viper H1N1 can really involve any of the flu symptoms you could have it and never vomit a single time. The only symptom that seems to be consistent with H1N1 is the high fever, but you can also have a high fever and not have the virus.
None the less it still sucks. To bad it's a virus and not a bacteria otherwise we could probably have a cure already (damn Viruses).

I don't really know which I've had ._.
-
Never got the flu because I get mah shots :P.

I was supposed to get a flu shot today and i got sick on monday. The only good part is once i am over it my body should build up an immunity to it so i shouldn't get it again at least not anytime soon hopefully.
-
I don't know when I'm going to get a flu shot, if at all this year. Hopefully my immune system is running on all cylinders; I live on a college campus and regularly take public transportation. I haven't gotten the flu in 5 years, I don't know if that's good or bad.

not having it for 5 years is impressive, I get the flu every year even with flu shots:frown:.

Flu after shot is not flu. Real flu is a potentially lethal disease.
Why don't you people get your shots? It's only helping your immune systems by creating antibodies to protect yourself against this year's influeanza virus (they mutate very fast). Seriously, you can even give the shot to yourself if you're ****ing hardcore :3.

when i went to my grandmas house my mom got sick cuz of the ketchup... we lator decided to clean out her fridge and cupboard and found 18 year old canned peaches. the can was soo full of random(and probably poisonous) gasses that it looked like it was gonna explode.
the4 ketchup was only 4 months past due date.

I can't speak for everyone, but there's more people than flu shots in my neck of the woods. As such, the people who can miss work on a moment's notice usually get them, while hard workers like my parents miss out.

Flu shots are plentiful in scotland, but if you've ever been here in winter you'll understand.
I have, however, had the same cold for 1 year straight. It's finally dieing down, but I think it's coming back. (My temp shot up today.)
It's had an odd plus though. I've never been sick with anything else. Ever. I only had chickenpox, and that's it!
-
I haven't had the flu in a while.
-
Where i live the flu shots have run just about dry. although it really doesn't matter because i've already got the stupid flu. But thats the main reason i didn't get my flu shot sooner i am not old or a baby so i don't qualify.
