Willing to forgive for past offenses yes, but I'm not willing to be BS'ed yet another time.

I think it would be a good idea because if he is reformed, the TX problem is no more a problem and he gets what he wants, but if he starts sh** again, the TX problem is taken care of permanently.

In the other case we could wait 73 days... would either work or not.
