Harold Camping
« on: April 22, 2011, 09:04:22 PM »
What is everyone`s opinion on this man. He tryed to predict  the end of the world was in September 1994 and now he thinks the end of the world is in May 21 2011. I think this is false and we will be celebrating Vertigo`s birthday on that day.

The person is trying to stir up fear.

The only day to fear, is in 2012, and I beg noone to make special preparations for that day, because if it ends; You won't know anyway.

2012 is fake too. The world won't be ending for another million years or so. Long after any of us around to care.

I believe 2012 is fake as well, I am just wary of the fact that it does have a bit more backing it up then any of our other doomsday BS.

Either way, we wouldn't know even if the world did end, so lets just ignore any doomsday prophets, mk?

That is true, there's apparently a meteor that's going to pass VERY close to the earth. And by very, I mean several million miles. So in reality, not that close. Closer than Mars, though, they reckon. If it does hit, the earth will be split apart and no amount of preparation will allow us to survive that.

But seriously, the world is NOT going to end in May, I do wish people would stop trying to f*ck up people's lives by tryint to terrorise them into giving them a bunch of money to be prepared for an inevitable false apocalypse. Sure, humans trying to control Mother Nature is always going to end badly, there's always going to be natural disasters and such, but nothing like that is going to destroy the earth. Unless the UN invades everywhere and everyone launches their missiles at everyone else. But presumably that won't happen for, oh, at least another couple of months.

What do you buy to prepare for an apocalypse; doesn't it imply the end of humanity?

Exactly my point. No amount of preparation could enable you to survive the apocalypse, therefore there is no point.

I would buy a Armoured truck.  I hear those are pretty good for apocalypse's   (haha... its pretty funny to try to say "apocalypse's" without going "seseseses" on the end)

People don't necessarily believe in a "true" apocalypse, but rather in a flood or another global natural disaster (which they have the possibility to survive). And it's understandable that they would prefer to have money than all of their crap physically damaged and useless.

Westberro

What is this "Westberro" you're talking of? Did you perhaps mean the Westboro Baptist Church?

The world ends when I get rob and stabbed to death on the street, or hit by a car, or a sudden heart attack.

You mean the world goes on after I die?  Well I have no reason to believe that.
