Wasn't Clinton dealing with the sh** from the Reagan/Bush era? See, this could go on forever.

The truth is, the president has little control over the economy. It's up to you, the consumer, to fix it by buying more sh**. If you buy more sh**, more people get more hours at work, and consumer confidence is raised. Thus, the economy goes up.

When the bastard gives BILLIONS & BILLIONS & BILLIONS of our tax dollars to rich bankers and the second and thirteenth largest auto makers in the whole damn world.....AND THEY STILL END UP BANKRUPT then something is WRONG with that president! Hell, I see nothing wrong with the economy.....every body I know is STILL working and still doing good. I am even thinking about buying a new truck.....A FORD, because I refuse to support obongo motors and fiat (or ever who ever ended up with Chrysler....junk anyway)

Here is kinda what I want....this is good pictures thread anyway.

I have a '72 Red Gran Torino, my mother has a Honda Something, and our family van is a 2007 Nissan Quest with 5 sunroofs, a DVD player, and custom red covering on all seats and surfaces.

The GT is used and was pretty beat up when I got it, but I've worked on it for a while and I get to drive it next year. Looking forward to it.

No, something is wrong with the auto manufacturers. If they can blow quote "billions and billions" of dollars, then they are morons. They screwed them selves over in the first place.[/political]

I have an old porch/breezeway on the back of my house that is falling apart. I am probably going to tear it down at some point. But for the time being, I just let the Spider populace flourish there and damn do they know how to make abandoned structures their home!

While I was outside grilling a steak, I took the camera out to catch some of these 8 legged baddies.  This is only an inkling of how many live around my house.  I dig spiders, they tend to keep the ants away from the house, amongst other pests.   My basement and attic are riddled with webs.

Hey, those are some nice pictures.  Crisp focus, reasonably high resolution, better than most people can do with a regular point and shoot camera.  How many shots did it take to get a good one of those little guys?

Insect/arthropod photography is kind of a hobby of mine... though as much as I like every other kind of bug, I must admit that spiders still inexplicably creep me out a bit.

I have a folder full of 268 jpg's on my computer (I just checked.)  Here's some of my better ones.  (Many of them are too big to post here.)

A bumblebee on a thistle in a park near my house:
https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/16359bombus6.jpg

A bee (I'm pretty sure she's a mining bee in the genus Andrena) coming out of her underground burrow.

A water strider walking on water:
https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/63461gerrid1.jpg

A Mourning Cloak butterfly I just shot a couple weeks ago: (The Mourning Cloak is my favorite butterfly and I've always wanted to get a photo of one)
https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/34310nymphalis_antiopa1-1.jpg

A cool katydid I found sunning on a path last fall:
https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/14303orchelimum1-4.jpg

A VERY lucky shot I captured of an Immigrant Green Leaf Weevil just as it was taking flight:
https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/90926polydrusus_sericeus1-1.jpg

And, lastly, a jumping spider for Urjak.

Oh yeah, and also the click beetles in my avatar and sig are from my own photos

That is most definitely not a roach, it is a Longhorned Beetle, I'd say in the genus Prionus.  They don't bite and they're not pestiferous so there's no need to worry.  Nice find; big beetles like that are cool.

I found some big beetle about 2 inches long when I was about 6, kinda looked like that beetle without the antenna. And it had fairly large horizontal mandibles. Aaaand it bit me. =P Then it got loose in our house and probably died and we haven't found it since.

I have no idea what it was, and I haven't seen one like it other than that.

Been a while since I posted anything, so I saw this thread and figured, what the hell ....

One of my fleet of pocketbikes, and the most modified, The Rat:

Brass knuckle fender: Okay I lied - it's not really brass.  From left to right, those are box-ends from a 5/8", 11/16", 5/8", and 9/16" wrenches.  Crossbar on back is rest of handle from 9/16" wrench, supports between main body and crossbar are Allen wrenches, brackets to fork legs are gate hinges.

Some of my welded artwork (picked up a little Harbor Freight MIG welder, 90-amp, 110v fluxcore wirefeed, no gas):

Something for Urjak - my big spider, built from bicycle rims:

My digital camera has two macro settings on it and I use them often with insect photography.  I guess that has given me some experience.  I could do wonders with a Canon Rebel, but I can't afford one.

@spyguy:  Wow that is a ton of stuff to look at! Awesome!

That is some amazing artwork SpyGuy.  You like bicycle parts, don't you.

Dare I say it...?  Your scorpion has an extra pair of legs; they have 8 legs but the front two are modified into claws.  And the Rose is actually a tulip.

But that's nitpicking; it's great work.

@Jack: Wow, a fellow hobby insect photographer.  If you have more pictures I'd be interested in seeing them.

You can actually do some incredible stuff with regular point and shoot cameras these days.  I use a Canon PowerShot A720IS with a close-up lens, and I am quite pleased with it.  Except when I want to photograph a bug indoors, or when I'm photographing something really tiny.  Then I wish I had a digital SLR with a ring flash.

Could be a darkling beetle (family Tenebrionidae).  Possibly one of the ironclad beetles in that family; they're characterized by having fused elytra (wing cases) and very hard bodies.  But I'm not sure.  The pic is a little blurry.

Cool pics.
I have some clients that cling and hold onto to the same stuff, and never move beyond it...
....and then are 'surprised' and even 'angry' when all their efforts end up being only crap.
Edit: What size is their brain???

Not necessarily.

All of those look similar too.  (Though, Naryar's beetle being from France, it is almost certainly a different species.)

I don't know about everyone else, but my problem is that he makes too many posts that contribute nothing.  That last one for example, I think it's pretty obvious that a guy named "Clickbeetle" knows a thing or two about, oh I don't know, beetles?

Incidentally, I DO know a thing or two about Animal Crossing, just mentioning that before anyone thinks of being clever.

sry for the dp
here are two things i made with tux(linux penguin) on them
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/650770330091112a.jpg)
that one was my name-tag in art. i took the photo w/ my phone w/o service from under the art table so the teacher wouldn't see.

this one is a flag that i had to do for an imaginary country
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/552570502091738a.jpg)
yes i did cut each and every piece of tux and then sew then(handmade!) onto the thing.
