Title: Cooking
Post by: Jonzu95 on April 29, 2010, 07:08:42 AM
I like cooking. Do you. Post here something that you have cooked.
I made this with my dad. Fish Fingers, Mashed potatoes with broccoli & carrot. plus Brown Sauce.

And here is Greek Bread: Before the oven
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/38209Kreikkalainen%20Leipä%201.PNG)
After the oven.
Inside of that bread is some eggs, salami & salad.

Sorry for the larges images... My phone sucks...

Breakfast of champions.

Three egg omlette (Motzarella, Provalone, American) with bacon and buffalo chicken.

Had some extra bacon and Buff Chicken so I just put that on the side.  Yummy white Canadian toast topped with I Cant Believe It's not Butter.

Washed it down with a big ol' can of Moutain Dew Amp.

And, yeah, my omlette looks like it has a little skull in it... I am probably gonna die. (of a heart attack... but at least I didn't use real butter.)

If you used margarine, you ate something even worse for you. While the saturated fat in butter is bad, the trans fat in margarine is even worse.

Also, why didn't you mix your omelette?

I used "I can't believe it's not butter" which has less fat than butter and no trans fat at all. I believe it is soy based. :D

http://www.icantbelieveitsnotbutter.com/home.aspx (http://www.icantbelieveitsnotbutter.com/home.aspx)

I didn't mix my omelette because I got fickle while making breakfast.  I put three eggs in the pan because I wanted to have them separately over easy.  But then, an omelette seemed like a better idea so I just poked the yolks and cooked it up from there.  Usually, when I actually have a gameplan... I mix the eggs up before starting.  But, with a hangover, this morning I was just unfocused.

Virgin olive oil owns all.
It's tasty and not too bad for you, but it can't handle the high heat. For that, you need something like peanut oil.

Because they are awful for gradients, which are omnipresent in photographs. Read up on the PNG spec on wikipedia, paletted and lossless graphics are really mediocre for photographs.

I don't think that works on all fruits, as far as I can remember. I usually use salt on apples and watermelons.

It works for absolutely all foods. I even put a little salt in my coffee to reduce bitterness and bring out the flava.

Best way to eat blueberries if they're frozen

1. Make damn sure they're frozen
2. Put them in a bowl
3. Submerge in milk
4. Add a little sugar
5. Wait 2 or so minutes

Bam, instant ice cream.
Title: Re: Cooking
Post by: frezal on July 22, 2010, 01:02:21 AM
Best way to freeze blueberries: Put in a single layer in a baking pan or cookie sheet. Place as close to the bottom of your freezer as possible. Once frozen, put it into a zip lock bag, suck as much air out as you possibly can with a straw, and slap a date onto it for future reference. If you have a food saver vacuum thing, that's even better.

I am having pork right now.

Surprisingly, even after waiting a few days in the fridge, it is pretty good and tasty if you fry it in olive oil with salt, pepper and curry.

Only problem is the boiling olive oil :P  And yes, I know, olive oil isn't (supposedly) fitted for cooking, but it's still good and the oil does not burn.

Olive oil is great for cooking. You just don't want to use the Extra Virgin stuff for high heat applications.

Atleast I've got through all of it now, but I also lost my mint chewing gum  :(

I haven't had anything to eat today from not being hungry. And if I have like a light snack I feel like I'm going to puke.  :dead: I'm starting to get worried.

Make Fretzals!
To make a proper fretzal, I would need to use lye. Since I don't want to risk severe burns, I think I'll hold off. Of course, I could always use baking soda and then apply an egg wash for browning.
And of course the secret ingredient that makes those white circles appear   :laughing

A little bit of truck stop diner food for ya. It's a slice of ham with some red-eye gravy.

You coat the ham in flour and fry it in some fat. (The traditional fat is ham fat, though I just used butter.) After getting a good crisp on both sides, deglaze the pan with some black coffee. Do a little mixing and pour the gravy right on the ham.

Oh, and a sweet potato pie!

I was going to make a meringue for a topping, but got lazy. Whipped cream works well enough (or, nothing at all!).

The pie goes great with my homemade eggnog. The ham was tasty, but probably clogged up a few arteries.

Mega bump. Why has this thread fallen into oblivion ?

Anyways... I have prepared ray fish wings with tomatoes, capers and garlic, all that in oil, hoping that it would add to the taste of the fish. I find manta ray really tasty, so I bought frozen manta ray wings a few ays ago. My first time cooking ray as well.

It's ok. Not as tasty as I wished but with the sauce it's pretty good.

Add it to the mix!
Now just take a little something sweet, not sour...
a Bit of salt, just a pinch!
Baking these treats is such a sinch...
Add a teaspoon of Bologna!
Add a little more and you count to four,
And you never get your filla!

Weirdest thing I've made was Buffalo Wing shaped tofu (and I can say they are nasty). It was for some "special" that hasn't been repeated.

you should mix these when you cook so the pasta acquire more taste.

also I highly recommend adding cheese and eggs into the mix.

Damn your foreign language!
Peurunka is a name of a hotel. I was at Peurunka-Rally in Saturday so there's your explanation
is that green and yellow goop supposed to be mushrooms?
It looks green, due to my bad camera on my phone.
