Who here likes/use to like them? I used to be ubsesed and I found mine a while ago, still works like a charm :D
-
Inevitable thread is inevitable.
-
What?
-
he means it sucks
-
I mean what is this topic about?
-
beyblades
-
They're little multicolored gyroscopes shaped like saw blades that you drop into a bowl and see whch one stops first. I used to think they were cool when I was younger, but then I realized they were insanely overpriced for the quality you got and then I quit.

CROSHFIRA
DON'T GET CAUGHT UP IN IT
*Isn't old enough, just watched Board James (AVGN's board game reviews). Then again, there was something similar in the house that used discs. It was also as big as hell. And had it's own version of pool. I do not remember the name*
-
I used to watch the TV show every weekend.
-
Oh yeah, this topic was about Beyblades.
Eh, they were cool. I might have like.. 10, not including other companies trying to get into the craze.
-
I used to watch the TV show every weekend.
The Tucker Carlson/James Carville political debate show?
-
I gave one of my bots the name of one bayblade. it was draciel I think.
-
I remember in the TV show there was a guy who screamed,''DANCE!!!!',to make his beyblade attack.
I was like 5.
-
I won a Beyblade contest at Woolworths once.
-
The epitome of Badass.^^^

Great game!
I had the gereric knock off called "Sonic Zoomers," which, in retrospect, sounds like some 60's porno flick. The last time I played it, a disc somehow took flight and hit me in the eye. My parents then donated it to the salvation army, where it could murder more poor, helpless eyeballs of children.
-
Beyblades? Oh yeah, those spinning top things. Had 2, dragoon ( generic name is generic ) and some red one that I never found the name off. Was awsome though, and I would always win the comps at my old school ( my old school actually supported fads like that ). I have watched the whole series, and have the game on the VBA ( which is frankly, crap).
I have a whole box full of little rip-off version of beyblades that I got for 5 cents a pack. A pack came with 3 little beyblades, a lolli pop and a launcher. Also had a chance to get a golden or silver rare ones. Out of the IDk how many packets I opened ( I bought the shops entire stock of it ) but only managed to get one gold one. Some of the spinning things are quite powerful, some can even fly out of the arena and bounce off the walls of my house :P

Threads like this.
Also S32 just owned the thread. I am still laughing XD
-
I laugh at everyone who wasted money on beyblades, I'd like to see them go against my little clay dreydel...
-
I guess you bought Pokemoncards?
-
Um no, Magic Cards when I was like 10...
-
I had tons of them stuffed in my tool box and they were all gifts from relatives. I like one particular Beyblade - it was a custom all-metal one with spheres of flint glued to the ends of the disc. Then I manually sharpened the blades to make it look more badass. Then it became more badass when I painted it in chrome. But I was 8 or something back then, so I was kinda inexperienced in hands-on stuff, so I accidentally painted the flint in chrome as well. :P
-
IRL Candy at 8 ? Not bad.
S32 really made my day i am still laughing at GAYBLADES at the moment i am writing this.
-
yeah I was in the craze when I was .. 8 or 9 ? I have many a BeyBlade
funny enough they are making a comeback in another form.. saw them on sale the other day in a Target Store

-
Wow. Forgot about MEGA BLOKS. These construction block companies really like to go out of their area.
Looking at LEGO Technic and Bionicle.. they really like to stray away from their roots don't they?
-
I used to have a bunch of these, as well as two arenas. I cut a hole in the middle of one of them, and thus I had a two-floor arena. All of mine were custom. On one of them, the tab broke off the bottom of the tob and i replaced it with a tiny bolt so it was lower and could get under other tops. Like everyone else here, though, I was around 8 or 9 years old at the time.
Still have these somewhere, might have to dig them out.
-
I remember putting a cardboard blade on mine.
-
I modified the launchers to have a longer launch chain (what do you call that? the plastic rack that you pull?) to get a higher speed. In retrospect it did almost nothing.

pull cord. best invention in the toy world. ever.

I used to play with Beyblades back in junior high. There were a bunch of us that would all gather in one classroom every morning and have battles. I was the school Beyblade champion, thanks to my modified Beyblade. It was originally a store-bought Beyblade that I had bought off of a friend with a bunch of extra parts for like $5, but I had modified it so I could put two of the weight rings in it. This gave it just enough power and momentum to beat even the most expensive stock Beyblade. I may still have the thing around here somewhere. I also built a second one just like it, but it self-destructed during a battle.
-
Pull cord? Heh. RIPCORD!
Finaly, someone got it right jeeze....
-
I was the school Beyblade champion,
hehe I was too :P in fact I started the craze at my school when I first brought them, soon they were banned from our school for no properly explained reason, just to be a pain I guess... they used to ban basically any hobbies we brought to the school ground.

Unlucky, My old school promoted hobbies like this....
The school I go to now doesn't really care about it.

LEDDIT RIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriusly, They are no match to my foot. I can't beleive I watched the cartoon.
-
used to do nothing else then battle with beyblades when i was way younger. from different stock parts i actually made something that was able to win somewhat everything on my school. one battle one of the two points broke off as it had gotten quite a lot of beatings, it only made it stronger.
some months ago i found my whole set with a lot of parts and me and some friends got fighting. battles can be pretty insane. and one of my other attackrings got a big bit broken off by my old mass winning beyblade. kinda funny.
-
Ah, the gayblades. Nostalgia at it's worst. To me, they're just little spinning tops with a little picture of an anime monster on them. I used to collect millions of them...
-
ever seen pokemoncards? just the same but without spinning.
-
Very few people on this forum seem to know what "gay" means...
-
Homosexual man.
-
Actaully, I remeber reading somewere that it actually meant happy.
Gaytimes are meant to be read as happy times....
That definition isn't used that way often anymore....
-
mainly because people like to insult other people in any possible way.
happyblades = bayblades + drugs?

What I don't understand is why people think calling somebody or something gay (as in homosexual) is an insult. It seems rather silly to me.
-
no-one with the right mind will understand that i think. then again, humans are all very weird.

Double QFT
-
I used to make gheyblades out of legos...
they sucked.
-
gay has actually became somewhat of an excepted insult which as others stated make very little (if any) sense
its original meaning I believe was happy, hell we have an IceCream down here called Gaytime

Goldern gaytime, quite good...
Nothing wrong with being homosexual, so I also don't know why people take it as an insult....
-
the word has, not the lifestyle :P
