I don't care what kinna noise pollution you like.  Just put on a damn headphone and stop expecting anyone else to rupture their eardrums with you.

Also "Open Mindedness" is stupid.  I am close minded and I am proud of it.

99.99% of it sounds terrible

I like some dubstep, but this usually holds true. The majority of the "dubstep" on Youtube is sh**ty, over-sampled bits of audio put to a sh**ty beat.

How did you go from "I don't care what you like" to "I don't like the fact you like different things and I am proud of it." So quickly?

This is the problem.

That is where almost all of it is found. At least in the US. The only dubstep that you can get physical copies of here is Skrillex to my knowledge.

I don't think he wrote, "I am close minded and enjoy shoving my dislike of whatever the hell you like in your face"

Anyway, there is probably okay dubstep out there. I don't especially wish to find out as I don't have the desire to dig through a pile of tripe to find out, but there are probably some decent tracks somewhere.

I hate it when people say electronic music takes no skill! For now let's assume it doesn't take any skill (wrong). Skill doesn't matter one bit, its all what sounds good to you! Birds sing a bunch and they are naturally gifted with the ability. It must be ridiculously easy for them, yet that doesn't mean we should hate it!

Dubstep on youtube is awesome, it's where I find everything.

Well see their argument about dubstep is that anyone, from a Jock on a football team to a hobo, can make dubstep/electronica. Not just the birds that are naturally gifted with the ability. Their point is that for everyone, from the Jock to the hobo to the musically inclined bird, making dubstep/electronica is ridiculously easy.

My opinion of dubstep? I don't really care, as long as it meets my criteria of being appropriate in a large epic battle or is a good song to listen to while making a giant TTGL sized mecha then it's fine with me. For this, Excision is one of the few dubstep artists I know that meets this criteria with just about every song he (I'll be damned if he's a she) makes.

Explain to me what is wrong with anybody being able to make electronic music "ridiculously easy". Isn't that the whole beauty of it?

One of the reasons it seems to be such a misconception is a misinterpretation of live electronic performances. People "not in the know" watch videos of Electronica or Dubstep producers playing live, and all they see is them twisting knobs and pushing buttons and they assume what they are watching is the producer making the song live (hence why they think it must be so easy and simplistic.) Not knowing what they are seeing is just live remixing rather than producing.

Nothing at all, its just that those who have spent large portions of their lives learning how to play a difficult instrument get frustrated at the fact that anyone can make music by clicking their mouse a few times and or by twisting a few knobs. Even though its no different from an inexperienced person strumming their hands over a guitar a few times and calling it a "song." They don't realize it can take just as much talent/skill/effort as learning how to make an organic instrument sound nice.

I would like to repeat one of Sonny's arguments, which is a very good point...

Who seriously gives a flying shit about the means made to made music ? The end result is what's important.

Electro is a valid music style, just as metal is, or rap. The problem is when people make music with no sense of aesthetism, originality , good lyrics, or any capacity to provoke emotion or insight whatsoever.

I learnt from that argument when I learnt that being able to play things on a guitar did not nessecarily consistute the actual mix sounding good at all; not to say I'm bad a mixing nessecarily, although I definitely was and even I can't perform miracles with the distortion tone in Ampkit, but even if you're Steve Vai you're going to sound like poo with the wrong setup. Electronic music avoids all that nonsense in the first place.

Some producers actually print disks and sell them. I have disks for South Central, but have never seen it in HMV, or any other shop that sells CDs. Of course, they aren't well-known, which may contribute to this, but there are more popular artists who have produced dubstep that are more popular that have released widely available albums. Most of the stuff on YouTube is produced by some experimentalists on their laptops trying to be popular by targeting a distinct area of musical interest.

When they perform electronica live, they're not making it there and then, they do the same as everybody else and repeat from practice. It takes an incredible amount of skill to produce the multiple layers with correct timing when you don't even have a scale, you only have knobs and buttons in random places that have to be twisted or moved the right amount, to replicate a track that, apparently, has no rhythm or reason to it.

There is a bird capable of doing Dubstep. I'd pay for who manages to make this bird sing Dubstep

That bird has no rhythm and really needs to work on the beat.
