I really like Super Mario Galaxy, Oregon Trail, ROB the robot. I didn't expect such a pointy robot to be based on Tetris.

I only see a few here that actually relate to the game. Phoenix Wright is my favourite. I don't play Animal Crossing but Resetti has been done well! If only Sonny_Resetti could win this on looks alone.

DP: Brackets up.

Here's how this will work. The top 2 bots in each heat will automatically advance to the knockout round. The bots who did not win any matches in their heats will be eliminated. The third-place bots in each heat will then face off in 2 separate rumbles (one of 3 bots, one of 4). The 2 winners will take the 15th and 16th spots in the knockout round.

This is very disappointing. Like stated, a TON of the robots don't even relate to games what so ever! 11 Robots I counted which I'd count as eligible. The rest have nothing to do with the game and it's just skinned so it has it's logo or something. I mean, why would you try hard on win on a fun little tournament?

I wanted to do something involving rings for Darkseed 2, but the best I could manage was making a sorta circular robot. Looking at them now, I feel like I should have done a bit more with the idea.

Also I thought the level of competition would be far less tryhard.

Perhaps what you need is a scoring system like Craaigs Rw 2005 tournament. Something to consider for Vg Showdown 2.

Elementos' Thomas Was Alone robot makes me sad. He literally found the first robot in his botlab that had a box chassis and skinned it a flat color, then said "oh yeah the chassis looks like a character from a game where every character is a box, that means it's eligible"

Guys I understand that many of the robots aren't designed with their game in mind, but I didn't want to put too many restrictions on how a bot can be designed. I'm not sure how to word what you guys have been saying as a rule, necessarily.

(by the way, just because it's well designed doesn't mean it won't have a shot, Phoenix Wright...)

The purpose of the pont system is you don't have to reject anyone; someone can enter woth a box of they want to , but it may not win the tournament even if it wins all its battles.

My bot was originally based off of 1001 Spikes (originally named (10)01 Spikes) but I couldn't add a 10th spike due to the wedge AGODing if I did. I did some more designing but everything else was ineffective and I figured Super Meat Boy also had a lot of spikes.

BTW, it would help understand why these bots are designed by showing their names. I just didn't put them in the splash because I wanted to focus on the video games.

Actually, I didn't do that. I knew what game I was basing it off from the start. My bot is actually called Thomas WASN'T Alone. (Hence all the stuff around Thomas.) Somehow freeziez has changed the name.

And don't blame people for not getting close enough to the game because it's a DSL-S tourney and the concept for this tourney would be ten times better in IRL.

Edit: Oh yeah, I love how you have always been against me for no reason Badnik. I actually find it quite amusing.

So when I was building mine, I was thinking of Ounce's Tunnler. And I'm like, what's a game where you dig a bunch? And the first one that came to mind was Dig Dug so sorry I tried.
