This ONLY works for Omni AI, which comes pre installed in the DSL Pack, and can be installed separately.
These only work for weapons!
For burst motors and pistons: Use a Basic Smartzone. It will be invisible until you attach it, so you should press F12 to see the collision meshes. Attach the center point of it to where you want it to go (say, in front of the axe). Once it's attached, click on it. Name it "weapon"(no caps). Next, wire an analog control to the burst motor or piston. Name it "Fire"(case sensitive).
For spinning weapons: These DO NOT require smart zones. They use a range value instead of a smartzone.
In order to make your robot self right, then you just need to create another control linking to your axe/flipper weapon etc and call it"Srimech".

You know, instead of trial and error, you can always press F12 to see the collision meshes.
Pretty good info for those in need.
-
Never knew that. Will change it. Also, does it show up as "size=medium" on your computer?
-
Yes it does, looks to me like the size tags are boken or only use numbers.
*edit* Yep, you gotta use *Number*pt
Replacing *number* with what size you want.
-
Will do that. Also, have added srimechs.
Can someone sticky this?
EDIT: Done the main bit of it, now just need to wait for it to be stickied.
-
you know you dont need a smartzone for spinning weapons right ?
also with Mad's SZ's they appear exactly where you click, also as SSG said its F12 not F4
but nice attempt at a tutorial, its just got some mistakes.
-
I will correct them then. I never knew that spinning weapons don't need smartzones... How do they work then?
-
On Omni, the spin function depends of a range value, not a smartzone.
-
Where do you have to go to do that, then? Is it in the bindings?
-
Yes. 'range' value.
And read the .py. It's all logic down there really.
-
Perhaps you could add a section explaining the benefits of "Omni" over say Chopper Flipper and Poker (the srimech feature is obvious, I'm talking the more subtle differences).
-
Omni is basically an hybrid of Poker and Spinner.
