Making Invisible Sections in a Disc?

Whattup, I'm working on a rep of Texas Twister currently and I'm needing help on how to make invisible sections like you'd see on the S3 or Nightmare disc in DSL. I'm using a base extender disc BTW in case that matters. I know Click made a tutorial here many moons ago about switching to .tga files versus .bmp but every time I've tried that it just makes it white? Anyone more experienced know how I could pull this off? I'm also needing this for making invisible flipper panels to give the flipper reps more oomph.

I'm personally not sure on how to edit discs to have transparent parts, would be worth asking Bild on discord.
Also, if you need an invisible flipper component in the RWRA2 mod they have that exact components for the flippers that need added oomph.

This is what you want - scroll down to Clickbeetle's message, and ignore the idiot at the top who couldn't figure it out for himself. Note that this does NOT work on wheels.

EDIT: in case it's not clear, you need to save the "holey" disc skin as a TGA file, which means you need a program like Paint.net that can do save pictures as TGA files.
