An easier way to axle load
« on: August 07, 2011, 07:40:35 AM »
I found out this method, and wanted to share. This allows you to easily axle load anything, even on HP-Zteks.

Step 1.
Attach an 20cm extender to the axle.

Step 2.
Spin the motor until it's on full speed and switch tabs (while still holding the spin button).

Step 3.
Make the motor spin faster by pressing and holding the spin button and quickly switching tabs. Repeat a few more times to make the motor spin faster in order to enhance success. Stronger motors require more repetitions.

Step 4.
Remove the extender and put another 20cm extender on the axle, with the side attachment this time.

Step 5.
Spin once and quickly switch tabs. The extender should've come loose.

Step 6.
Remove the extender and place your wheel/disc/other component.

Step 7.
Spin once and quickly switch tabs. Congratulations, your component should now be axle loaded.

(I'll make a video when I am home)

That's kinda similar to the way I posted a while back. But nice find, I imagine it should help a few people. =)

Yep, it's basically using snapper loading to axle load, and is what I do (somewhat) as well. I haven't tried the whole extender thing though.

when I axle load I put a rad on an extender on the motor. then I snapper load the rad out, remove the rad and extender, attach the wheel/whatever, spin the motor slightly to get the wheel out of the way and switch tabs.

Exactly what I do.
Same thing, except usually with an astro in DSL.

Yes, when an axle loading becomes more difficult (mostly when you have large amounts of weight on the part that you want to axle load, it's more difficult to axle load via simple switching tabs method), chaining motors makes it much easier.

I did the same thing with my last stock bot.

You don't need the extenders at all. The sideways on helps a little but not really.

Pretty sure adding and removing extenders DOES help when the axle doesn't go out of it's socket...

Nary is right... i meant the first extender. Second one speeds up the process but isn't required.

That sounds almost exactly like a technique I shared, except I just used a longer extender and didn't super spin the motor.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

The adding and removing of the extenders literally rips the axle out.

Alright, then this is exactly the same technique I showed this forum a while back.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D
