They're team 1 and the first four bots of team 2.  My idea was that you could just take the AI folder out of your copy of RA2 and paste in the AI folder I provided, then switch the folders back whenever you were done with the Tricycle Takedown bots.

Speaking of which, I should record something.

Well I did just that just now and it kept crashing whenever I launched a match... Something must be slightly tweaked in the versions I have that doesn't like your AI folder for whatever reason.

Either way, it's half past midnight here and I'm giving up for now.
Yep you need the smartzones, had the same problems trying to open up Redace's bot when he uploaded it after the tournament. Let me save you the trouble of searching the downloads page(it's under custom components) and link it here: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=237
To install put the stuff from the Smart Zones V.3 folder into components. Not sure if you need Smartzone.cfz or the setting in the .cfg file(I remember adding it but now it's gone?!) also get whatever makes Starcore V3's UI have 6 instead of 3 bots, it's needed.

About the bonus battles:

Appreciate the direct link bud.

I'll see if I can upload a couple matches tonight...

As for the videos

On a side note, I may go down in your estimations here, but Stock was my go to version of choice. I first joined the forums around 2010, but first played the game when I was around 14 ('2006ish I think?), but this is my first time playing competitively and actually fighting another bot from fellow forum users.

Looks like i'm mounting the drum on a burst motor next time and making a Drum/Axe Hybrid that covers both the front and the back  :laughing

Anyway, managed to get a few videos done. For all that care, please enjoy the below! Haven't used Movie Maker since I was like 10 lol...

You using Win7's movie maker or higher? Dunno what settings you used but if you export for HD display you get the best quality(sound sounds a bit lower quality than usual in your upload, but it's only barely noticeable, still good quality otherwise)
Am I the only one that notices that everyone writes Tastes like Sparkle while the bot doesn't seem to have that in the name? :P

Hey thanks!  I wasn't sure anyone would actually do any videos.  Would you mind if I added these to the OP?

The bot's name, in game, is "Tastes like spakle", and I've tried to remember to stick to that throughout the tournament.

Kinda forgot to mention it before, but I did read the rules for this, single elmination sure makes thing quicker and avoids long boring matches, so I can agree with that(maybe if you had direct elimination without losers bracket this wouldn't be such an issue, at least not after the first round?) looking forward to more hosted tournaments from you.
I like to either do best of 3 matches or double elimination.  Single elimination + best of 1 feels too short and kinda unfair to people who get unlucky, and Double elimination + best of 3 can start to drag IMO.

I planned on doing a few but since I didn't have fitting soundtrack and no way to do the YT splashes(no idea how you get thumbnails now, think you need to confirm your account with a phone number? not going to happen) wasn't sure if it would be a good idea, might do them sometime soon or on the weekends.

Yeah you got the names right, everyone else(I almost did that as well :P) calls it Sparkle, makes me wonder if the creator made a typo.

Double elimination(going to 3 rounds if each bot gets a win) is probably the best, 3 matches shows if the bot possibly had a chance(higher probabilty of a successful fight), but like you said it drags on.

Feel free bud :)

I intend to host my own tournaments at some point so it was a good opportunity to download and get acquainted with all the relevant software.

The drum is the secret to the wedgyness... I feel like a lot of us know how to create the "most efficient" wedge, so a lot of bots tend to lock wedges nowdays. I don't think Conundrum has a better wedge than Sealion or Late Night Aberration, but when the bots wedge lock the drum just grinds away at the opposing wedge until it's gone and then Conundrum can swoop under easily for the win. I definitely think drum style weapons should see more use.

Double elimination(going to 3 rounds if each bot gets a win) is probably the best, 3 matches shows if the bot possibly had a chance(higher probabilty of a successful fight), but like you said it drags on.

I agree, single round, double elimination feels balanced. Single round on it's own gives way for flukes and I tend to agree that best of 3 AND double elimination could drag, unless it was a high scale tournament.

And as a final side note, the thumbnails in my above videos youtube just created for me and you're right, you have to verify your account with them, but when you upload a video it gives you a choice of 3 random stills, the trick is to try and pick one that doesn't give the result away :laughing

Return of Drumbledore? Also I might have found a way to get Snapper II's more stable again.

Is it really that? Technically if something gets under the drum it shouldn't instantly be removed, instead the other bot should keep on pushing it's wedge under the other, however something under the drum keeps it there(bot not having enough speed to push?) after that it just gets ripped off and is gone.

Best Wedges? I only know about the "place it a bit below the chassis" trick, people say that DDT's are the best, yet I see Snapper 2's used and II's(which are apparently the worst but very good if put far back?). There's also been discussion about normal vs Emergency wedges(with normal being better) but I think a lot of that depends on how they're used.

Yeah I knew about that, back in the day it had 5-8 selections, also thought that google+ now required other stuff to confirm your YT account.

Here's a couple more suggestions I liked:

Anyway, I think I'm about done with this tournament.  Anyone interested in an awards thread?

Yeah, think this is finished, most of the matches that I wanted to see were done and all my talk probably dragged this on way longer than it should have. Looking forward to your next tournament.

On the contrary, I'm glad my tournament could spark discussion!
