I tried to AI Koss' entry, but I couldn't. So as we are now a robot down, the trial of The Wealdstone Raider will take place. Whatever robot bests The Wealdstone Raider the fastest will gain a bye in the first round.

It was a linear actuator powered crusher with a spinner element in the crusher. The main problem was I couldn't find a way to make it not insanely havoky and also actually making all the bits work. Koss knew the trouble I had with it and was cool with me leaving it out.

*Ahem.  anyway,  let's see who we got here:

baddragon.com:  Interesting.  Like Allowmancer but with hammers.  Might do pretty well since it's the Magnum Opus.

Blacksmith: Looks like it might have an issue swinging with all that weaponry.  Spoiler Alert: Scar killed Mufasa.  :p

Clash Century: It's alright to look at, but it might be pretty good a trapping carving opponents, but it might go low enough to win.

Deadly Swan: Hmm, besides the fact it can't self-right efficiently, it looks great and might do pretty well, as long it's a Sunday.

Dremel: Isn't technically breaking a rule, or are hybrids allowed as long as you incorporate the design you were assigned?  Either way, hnnnng indeed.

Enter Bot Name: Might do well at trapping, but luck might not be on his side with his upcoming matchup.  *Insert clever thing about description text here*

Lazy Chicken: Karma may have struck back with him.  [/injoke]  I think I can predict this doing decent.

Lopez (Hear what I do, Don't do what I say): This n- er, homie could do alright, but I fear those exposed tires.

Maleficarum: I think it looks like a fish, but I could be wrong.  Might flop around like one and that ain't good.

Narm: Nah, I've seen some better Beyblades in RA2.  Normals might do more harm than good though.

NSA Cavity Search: If ReForged (and ReAI for that matter) has tought me anything about this, is that i's well armored and is great at having sexdaily dsylexia.

Pothead the Porcupine: Sad thing is that... I actually haven't.   :frown:  Ah well, I have low hopes for this one going far.

Rabid Pit Bull: Might be good at grinding it's opponents, but it might lose it's weapons too quickly, and not even TV wants that.

The face of meth: This looks unstable as hell, and it might be high.  Must be an atheist.

Thumb Biter 1600: It might be hopping a lot, but it might be decent.  I do have one other thing to say.  Damn it Conraaa.

Can you tell I love these description texts.  +1 man.

Overall, lot's of cool looking bots but the efficiency is up for debate.  Good luck.

predictions

baddragon.com - looks ok, im worried the damage will be low and those zteks are toast man

blacksmith - looks pretty tough, I think it's gonna have a hard time hitting some opponents with the straight arms though. solid.

clash century - i mean uh... its basically HW-Undercutter with no plow and wedges

deadly swan - cool but its gonna die

dremmel - continuing SM's lifelong ra2 goal of bending the rules but it looks like its a decent bot. no idea how much damage it actually does though.

lazy name robot - is the range long enough? it looks very small for a clamp.

lazy chicken - GK 3 WHEELS = 3WD DON'T LET SM CORRUPT YOU but yay chicken drill

lopez (haopsdhjpaepahsoifdhaiulohwedahpwid) - i cant wait to see this thing flip on its side that'd make my day

malef - looks wicked unstable

narm - normals kill it, gonna have extremely low dmg

nsa -  SENT THEM IN AT THE SAME TIME  ;)

pothead - its not wide enough

rpb - isn't that a really low weapon count? is there something I'm missing? I am a sucker for ironforge beefy tank robots however. I worry what will happen if it gets flanked though.

meth - will either kick things miles which will be awesome or it'll get flipped on its side and be toast. it looks decently stable, I have high hopes.

thumb biter - not as unstable as malef but wow this thing's gonna jump.


i'm most worried about meth and blacksmith, and potentially lopez, dremel, baddragon, also rpb purely for durability. if you play reforged you know what NSA can do.

I know this sounds like nitpicking, but could you label each battle with who is fighting who?  I'm having a hard time telling which match is which.

I think that TB1600's combination of an inferior wedge and fairly narrow front armor did it in, especially against a side hammer. GG Reiereier.

it wasn't really your wedge or front armor, your rig is just really unstable and let NSA get under it. on the initial ram that your bot gets under mine. honestly it could have gone either way.

Is there an omni.py with the inverted detection like Flipper2.py has? I may have to start using it in my tournaments if there is.

It's been a fun one. I hope everything looked more polished than usual for one of my tournaments.

I would like to thank everyone who sent a robot for entering, and the awards thread will go up tommorow, or later tonight.

• The Face of Meth scared me early on, punting things out of the arena with reckless abandon. I thought it was going to get to the winners bracket final at the very least. Then I remembered that it can't turn for toffee.
• For a three wheeled chicken drill, Lazy Chicken really did quite well. The chassis detaching from the rest of the robot in one of its matches was hilarious.
• RPB was very good at lasting. But if it wanted to win on points, maybe it needed another flamethrower/more weapons? It was a very sweet build though.
• I'll admit, I was very happy when I saw Geice had entered my tourney purely because of how good he is at making bots! He managed to rock the clamp which is very impressive. I've never seen that type of havoking before, though.
• Pothead The Porcupine. It's certainly unique!
• Finally, Clash Century was one that I didn't rate before the tournament started, truth be told. Then it turned out to have great wedges and didn't lose a match! Boy did he prove me wrong. A very fine showing indeed.
