Not Quite Replica Wars
« on: June 03, 2011, 10:32:50 AM »
*Insert cool logo here*

Rules:
DSL MW (No multibots)
Replica Wars arena skinned (If Badnik gives permission) otherwise RA2 tourney arena skinned with no hazards.
16 bots
Single elimination, alternative choice brackets (I'll explain later)
Entrants choose and reserve a DSL replica of a real life bot and then make a replica using ONLY the parts found in that replica and only up to 3 times the amount of them. e.g. use of BOB only allows 3 flamethrowers. Multi extenders (only as base extenders) and ant batteries may also be used. Reservations only last 24 hours from posting your reservation (so only choose just before you build).
Standard 1 on 1 best of 3, 3min matches.
No AAM/BFE/Outside modification except skinning.
AMENDMENT: BFE may be used ONLY to attach components that may only be attached by BFE such as the Thermidor wheel or Nightmare's Disc. This is at my discretion and so must be requested.
Realistic (Usual stuff) but all in-game glitches allowed within realism.
Once sent, you can change which replica you use but only once. Minor updates within the same replica are infinite.
One free havok restart per match, any more results in disqualification.
I can AI but for best results, please AI yourself. (I'm not going to spend ages optimising AI for each entry)

Signups close when I get all entries or on the 3rd of July.

Alternative choice brackets: Each entrant ranks the other competitors in order of how much they would like to face them. I use this information to rank the bots. The lowest ranked bot gets its first choice of opponent, the next lowest gets its first possible choice in its list. etc. etc.... This gives more evenly matched battles. If not a full bracket, the lowest ranked bots get the byes.

Entrants:
1. Squirrel_Monkey (T-Minus)
2. MikeNCR (M.O.E)
3. G.K. (Growler)
4. freeziez (Killdozer)

13. That Robot is a Spy! (Supernova)

14. xanoz (Techno Destructo)

only up to 3 times the amount of them.

You must mean 3x whatever amount is on the actual robot right? not 3 of each part

because you used 4 T-Minus wheels and wheel guards

Also, I just had a thought, why aren't CB's allowed in with ants and multis?

Sorry didn't make that clear.

@G.K. Nope, all replicas have a decent CB and I felt there would be no problems.

Mike's bot received.

I love some of the comments Click made on components, I'd totally forgotten about them.

Example, on Ruiner Blade End: "It's the same as a 20 to 40 DSL bar, just looks more differenter.  So once again there's no point to using it.  The name sounds sorta like Bag End though... WHAT?!?! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT BAG END IS?? IT'S BILBO BAGGINS' HOBBIT HOLE IN THE LORD OF THE RINGS, CLAM!!"

Nope, unless their reserve runs out without an entry sent. Then it is open for someone else to use.
