I feel like I need to do this for my own mental stability. HA has probably been my biggest regret on GTM, as it was my first tournament and I had no idea how to format it. I've been thinking for a good couple years and I've finally got it down.
Rules:
- Ironforge MW
- Standard DSL-ish building rules. However, if you want to build IRL, it will be accepted.
- 3 minute matches
- 1 Havok restart, 2nd time eliminated
- BFE, AAM, NCR, Thyrus glitches not allowed
- No hax mode
- Cannot use DSA
- Multibots are not allowed
- No armor attached directly to the chassis of the robot
- Cheatbot2 components are not allowed
- Each bot must have at least 2 wheels
Format:
Bots will be split up into two teams. The first two people to enter will get to pick teams. Each episode (round), one entrant will me eliminated. It is possible that two or even zero robots will be eliminated in an episode, but it is unlikely. If teams are uneven by 2, then they will be evened out. Teams will continue until the final 6, where the competition will turn to individual. The last bot standing wins.
The good news about this format is that I can essentially take any amount of robots, as long as it is an even number (so teams will be even).
So yeah. Let me know if there's anything I need to add/remove. Feedback is appreciated.
Contestants:
1. yug1tom
2. TBD Devastator
3. System32
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.

I would just make it all standard or all irl, a mix usually just ends in people bickering.
-
How do you determine which bots get eliminated?

the only people who complain are the people too lazy to actually send something when signups begin and then complain a week later that someone took their spot. plus there is no limit on entries, so nobody really has a reason to complain unless whoever sends in their bot first in some n00b with like 8 posts and picks a terribad teams.

The losing team's performances will be evaluated, and the 2 to 4 bots who performed the worst will face off against each other.

(Sorry for taking so long to get to this)
This is now a Signups topic, and the rules above may not change.
You have 1 year. :)

Ironforge MW Standard? Sounds good to me. Perhaps I'll get back into building on my spare time, after the inspiration valley that has been plaguing me for the past month.
-
Is this MW as in 200, or MW as in 400?

Ironforge tournaments use Ironforge rules, so the weight limit is 200. However, the first four ballasts are free, meaning that they do not count towards your weight limit.

I'll try sort something for this later on.
-
I'll enter, but I don't want to pick teams lol.
-
This sounds great. I'd love to enter. :)

dead tournament ?
-
dead tournament ?
Dead Tournament.
-
Thats like walking up to a skeleton and wondering if it was dead.
So, so dead.
-
Maybe someone can bring it back to life and take over so we can stop saying it's dead. ;)
-
That'll be something we can look at when freeziez actually runs out of time.
-
I'm happy to enter this competition, given enough time to build a decent bot. How long do we all have left?

This tournament has expired for 2 days. I'd imagine he would have to finish this tournament with the entries he has already if he does not want to incur the full penalty (I believe that's the rule, now.)
-
Expired? Well, apologies for the intrusion, then. But, seriously, with no dates or anything, there was no way of me knowing. Also, you should probably move it to "completed tournaments".

It's all in the Tournament Management thread. It's already been classified as expired.
-
What yugi said, but that's my fault for not moving it over.
This is now an expired tournament and has been shifted to Completed.
Penalties will be incurred to freeziez tournament record.
-
Oh boy all the tournament's are expiring today.
-
Nah I just moved the ones that expired ages ago.
