Clash Cubes Video Library
« on: August 10, 2016, 08:02:09 AM »
Since the old youtube channel that hosted all my tournaments went down many years ago I decided to start a thread uploading old content as I pull it from my archives.

So first up the final from the largest tournament I ever held (and possibly the second largest is GTM history?) at 60 Entrants, CCIV

DSL 2.1 Lightweight in the Clash Cubes Arena.

More to come :)

Oh man, I remember this from my lurking days.  I miss these times.  I still can't believe I missed out in participating these (and I bet an actual CC5 is a far cry at this point).  Thanks for this Joe.  Looking forward to seeing the rest in the future.  :)

Ah yes, the tournament where my sister built a better bot than me.
Better than GK since 2009.
I think SM is a pretty cool guy, eh builds unicycle-bots and doesn't afraid of anything

The last couple times I hosted Battlebots I got 120+ entries total. Though I guess if we're just going to do in one single bracket, you're probably right.

This was only single robot entry.. so 60 different people entered.. 67 people entered BBEANS.. as far as I know that was the most but im happy to be corrected :)

It was just really to explain why clash cubes was an important tournament of its time to any new members who see this topic and wonder what these old dinosaur videos are about :P

Well I think we are due for anther trip down memory lane..

Clash Cubes 3 Grand Final...

Clash Cubes 3 was actually a points league so by the time we hit the grand final Urjak already had an unobtainable lead leaving us this unique Newly Crowned Champion vs Creator (Myself) match up with bragging rights on the line.

im going to guess a "t" is missing from that 3rd word? :P

I personally love this arena.. Madiaba and I spent a few late nights nutting it all out, it makes for some really crazy and suspense-filled  matches but it does create a significant degree of luck in the outcomes which creates controversy in a tournament setting.

It isn't a good tourney without some good controversy and at least 3 people being salty  ;)

Do you still have those highlight videos from Clash Cubes 2 and 3? I think those would be pretty neat to put up as it probably gives newer members the best look at what went down back then in the good ol days.
