Xkay7's Bot Showcase (Stock)
« on: January 23, 2015, 12:11:48 PM »
I've been lurking around this site for a while and decided to make my own bot showcase.
First one up: The Ambassador 2! (Not my first ever bot, just so you know.)

This thing uses dual spinners with 3 maces each, alongside several ram plates and forklift arms. Also able to drive when upside down, but not as agile, like your usually drunk uncle. I do know about DSA but use steel armor instead, because I like the shine to it. It's nemesis is Coal Miner. Emergency, along with any flipper bot, is not much of a threat in arenas with no death pits, and any axe bot like Grog, Deadbeat, and Raptor, don't stand a chance with the ram plates on top of my bot protecting the chassis. Please, tell me if there's anything I can improve about this bot.

TL;DR: Dual spinners heavyweight bot, entirely stock.

Also, here's a shot of a battle along with scores, sorry for all the blank space.

Not bad for a first robot!

Tips:
-Wheels on axles are useless and essentially eat up weight. You can remove them.
-Your forks are unneeded. If you really want a wedge, set up a DDT and a small wedge. That's probably the best wedge setup out there, and it should get under EMERGENCY with ease if set up well enough.
-Ballasts aren't needed at all either. Take them out.
-I believe you only need one black battery to power four HP Z-teks, but I could be wrong.
-You can shorten your robot a lot and use smaller wheels, for example shiny hubs, which are considered the best wheels in the game because all wheels have the same grip.
-Your choice of weaponry (maces) are excellent, arguably the best weapon for a spinner in RA2. However, they don't need to be on extenders that long, or even extenders at all. Once you take out the front axles, move your weapons forward.
-DSA is a lot better than steel is, and lighter too. If you want the shine back, I believe you can add it using bot file editing, but I don't know how exactly to do it.
-Your chassis management is pretty decent. Remember when designing a robot to design the chassis around the components instead of simply building a chassis and tossing stuff in.
-It would probably do good for you to read this:

436.6 weight
I've upgraded the spinners to add another mace to each, but doesn't allow upside down driving with shiny hub wheels. I also couldn't fit a DDT motor, but I plan to redesign the chassis for that.

Spin motors all use the same amount of battery power.

1 black = 5-8 spin motors
1 nifty = 2-4 spin motors
1 slimpack = 1 spin motor

How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

It's now a middleweight at 327, but only has one spinner. Also DSA armor with a ram plate in the back for protection.

I think it's quite good.
And thanks for the suggestions and information.

If you changed your extender work to one going out then the other going down then you could attach 8 more maces with a little knowhow.

Here's 3 rammer bots I've built, they all use DSA armor and are invertible, although they all use the same chassis, which could be improved.

They're all very quick.

edit: thanks for the suggestions, all versions can take on stock ai bots, but i've not tried more difficult ai packs. i also have a few ideas for odd bots that might not be combat effective, like using servo motors for turning or chained motors for hammers.

Bit too light to actually stand up to other middleweights IMO

So I made a bot that could turn using servo motors...
Then, I made a weapon out of it...

Oddly enough, it manages to beat all flipper bots including Emergency, forcing them immobilized with it's giant wheels and weight, although the same can't be said against bots that can actually fight back and score points. I did add sledge heads in the back to weigh the back down to stay stable, which is after I took the screenshots. Oh, and the reason why it uses discs as wheels is because regular wheels didn't take the servo turning very well. The ram plates on the discs can be removed and make moving much easier,
although I could just make the back wheels motorized...

Something tells me you're a fan of Markiplier.

Anyway, it's original. I'll give you that. I also see you're trying to make a Crawler (or VS thing?) innovative with the ramplates do the moving. With that in mind, try to attach as many weapons as possible and ditch the ramplates because they can only last for so long along with the wheels since the HPZs are doing the work. Also, Servo steering is kinda pointless since you can wire the HPZs to spin left and right, so there's no real point in having that slow of turning.

Also, try to build to the maximum weight limit for a HW because about 200 kgs can be used for so much more. (or you can just call it a Cruiserweight.)
