Welcome to my showcase, I hope you enjoy it.
My first serious bot is a heavyweight popup called omega9.

It's a bit tall. Lower the chassis height to 5 pixels (exact height of a HPZ), ditch the plows (quick bots counter this by having fast steering), and you're gonna need 3 blacks for that. And try using the snappers for wedges and the DDTs for weapons. :D
-
And, you are building Stock in DSL, wich is a no-go.
-
Also what armour is it? hope its dsa, yet that sucks in dsl, which you are building in. Get rid of the blue control board, as thats the dsl version and check out this site: http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/ra2techs.htm
now get a clean version of ra2 and build stock bots ONLY in that clean version. Don't mix stock and dsl
-
I actually like the concept of using a tall chassis to fit the DDTs, I've done one like this with caster armor but it was a hammer.
-
I installed a clean stock version and rebuilt it.
So here is Omega9.1

The armour is DSA
Changes:
-Replaced the static wedge in the middle for a moving one.
-The wedges use snappers now, instead of DDT burst motors.
-Slightly lowered the chassis.
-Added one DDT burst motor with spikes.
-Added an extra battery.
As for the plows, I tried it without them but it had problems against spinners so I decided to keep them.
-
Pretty good, even better if it can selfright OK.
Im amazed that you didnt need a 20 page tutorial on how to have Stock and DSL in different game folders, like most new guys do.
Altough, it has some empty space in beetween the batteries and drive motors.
And I belive that the wedge could be brought back quite alot if the snappers were to be touching the motors and batteries, then the DDTs could be above the motors and batteries.

Back with a more improved bot.

What good do the castors do?
-
Whats that extender work at the top? You should probably get rid of it. Those ramplates should probably be closer together and lower down. You've made a noob mistake with the caster amour; there arn't enough casters for it to count as 'armour', remove them. Bring the front wedges forwards so they are longer. Those ramplates protecting the wheels -is that what the heavy extender works for?- aren't needed. Also, make the chassis shorter. It should only really have to be five pixels tall=as tall as a HPZ.
Other than that though, I'd say that that isn't bad. Keep at it.
EDIT: Also, don't attach two wedges to one burst motor.
-
Underbody protection.
Very cool paintjob, by the way. X-terminator, you're already better than I am, so I'll shut up and leave you alone.
-
make the chassis much lower and get rid of the castors. Lower the Ramplates.
-
I kinda like the shape of it.
-
Yeah, a nice shape, and a decent strength bot.

I think that extender work is for the wheel guarding ramplates.
-
Yup, figures. I think I did mention that in the same post actually.
-
Well. here's the updated version called Hypernova.
I lowered the chassis and changed the ramplate construction at the front.

DSA?
If it is, pretty darn sweet
-
Looking good.
You could probably get away with removing a Snapper wedge as they're so close together, and centralize the other one. That'll save... by the looks of it 36kg for even more spikes.
The Caster armor is still too thin.
-
VERY much better. If the game allows you to shrink the front sides a bit, you should. A HS can hit those parts where the ramplates don't protect.
Also, maybe wider wedges would help. Not that it would increase its wedginess, but wider wedges would give it an advantage. :D
-
Looks like we have another generic HW bot named Hypernova.
I like it though.
-
DSA?
Yup

Tried it with wider wedges, but it didn't seem make a difference.
Anyways here's a middleweight version

The razors are triple stacked ad the armour is DSA.
-
Turn the attachment of the razors 90 degrees so all of them hit the bot. And if you could shrink the chassis a little more, you could have more protection or razors.
-
Both bots looking pretty sweet IMO, but on the HW I think you should just remove the castors completely.
-
On the HW, switch the positions of the DDTs and Snappers so that the Snappers are on the outside. Might help. Remove the 3 casters as they aren't doing anything, and use the weight for something else.
-
I've been trying to make a horizontal spinner and ended up with this. It's pretty messy and when I spin the motors the whole chassis spins too, making it unbalanced.
How can that be fixed?
I'll just post the insides this time.

Hmmm... try to stack the blacks (you don't really learn how, you just do it. XD). Also, you can put everything on 2 servos. But first, you need to learn how to axle load (check the BB site for the instructions, but use RADs for the loading and just attach the HPZ while loaded, it's much easier that way).
Here's where I get picky, but it's a good thing since you're getting better. You have your servo and that horizontal extender already, right? From there, attach a RAD to where your HPZ should be. Axle load it out, then attach a HPZ on the opposite end of the extender. Axle load it out again, then attach an extender to the bottom attachment point (what extender that would be attached there will be your choice. I haven't tried this setup yet but experimenting is always good when you want to have the drive at the perfect height) for the drive. And axle load it out again, then remove the RAD and attach the HPZ to the last attachment point. You'll have the weight for more that 24 maces. :D
-
I redid it using snapper II's instead of servo's. The maces are all triple stacked now, but it's even more unstable than the last build.
The armour is plastic.

Almost there. HPZs, invertible and DSA next. And try to stack the blacks.

Is there a tutorial anywhere on how to stack batteries? I just can't seem to figure it out.
