2 things.
You can take in game screen-shots by pressing F11.
And never select the armour tab unless you want plastic. It will give you DSA automatically.

To answer no.2: hate to sound like a noob. but what is DSA and how tough is it

Unfortunately. My CD of RA2 (or the CD bit on the laptop itself) Is F**king me around and its getting me really annoyed. So i might have to stop the showcase until further notice.

The problem is, ive just put it in. And it says no disc inserted everytime. Ive tried cleaning the disc but nothings working and when i stick it in the CD thing. It flashes green (meaning its loading) Then goes off. Even tough it was working about and hour ago. so yeah. My computer is utter CRAP :realmad( ::2mad ::2mad

Good news: Its not the game thats messed up

Bad news: its the CD player. If the CD cleaner dont work. Then the laptop might have to be sent for repairs

Theres a button in the upper right section the keyboard that says "Prt Scr" on it.
Press that, and then open a program like Ms.Paint or something, paste the image in it, then save that image as a .PNG(or anything, really)
Load it up to something like Imageshack/Tinypic, copy the url of the image, then paste it here with [img] tags.

Q2: When you finish the chassis, and its all white-like, THAT is DSA.
Although the bot appears armorless, it actually has DSA. DSA is as light as aluminum, but is as strong as steel.

Pretty much...

Please take correct pics nao. Go into botlab, take pics with F10, go into Screenshots folder, crop them, make them png's, upload them somewhere (Gametechmods image uploader is recommended), and paste the correct link the GTM image uploader gives you here.

Ok good news

In the last few days RA2 has been working in fine fettle. Heres some bots to make up for lost time

Mr Unorthadox
(http://s1131.photobucket.com/albums/m558/TheycallmeMrVEVO/Robot%20Arena%202%20showcase%20album/?action-view&current=MoreRA2stuff011.jpg)

My 1st (Somewhat fail) Attempt at a walking bot with hammers. Lands on its side almost all the time. Quite amusing actually

The Last Hurrah 2
(http://s1131.photobucket.com/albums/m558/TheycallmeMrVEVO/Robot%20Arena%202%20showcase%20album/?action-view&current=MoreRA2stuff001.jpg)

This robot has 16 Razors mounted on 2 pistons. 8 for each piston. but i dont use it as a pneumatic puncher as it does quite good damage to its opponents

Your using a digital camera ._______________.
Do this:
"Pose" the robot how you like -> Press the Print Screen(it says "Prt Scr") button on your keyboard -> Open a program like paint or photoshop -> paste the image there -> Save that page as the image -> You get a nice quality image.

Right, i know i should stop using the kodak camera pics, but i dont really want them to go to waste,

But anyways were meant to be talking about my (FAIL)bots

Heres Gigabyte Revamped

http://s1131.photobucket.com/albums/m558/TheycallmeMrVEVO/Robot%20Arena%202%20showcase%20album/?action=view&current=MoreRA2stuff008.jpg (http://s1131.photobucket.com/albums/m558/TheycallmeMrVEVO/Robot%20Arena%202%20showcase%20album/?action=view&current=MoreRA2stuff008.jpg)

This was my 2nd pop-up creation, which is 8 razors which are placed on 8 DDT's (1 each) powered by 2 blacks, its drive is a high powered Z-tek motor and 2 N-12 wheels, despite weighing in at 764.9kg, its pretty fast

This is an early spinner design, done this a few months back when i started working on spinners, the name is Radioactive

I like the DDT arrangement on Gigabyte, but it needs a small wedge, and more razors, and 4WD.

I think tall chassises are a sorely under-explored concept.  Keep the double row of DDTs and this could actually be a somewhat original and good popup.

It is mandatory to put correct pictures on a showcase. We said it already 2 times, if he doesn't understands next time i will take action.

And this is in no way a flame war. You know what a flame war is, don't tell this is one !

Ok time to put this situation to bed once and for all

Reason im taking pics with my camera is that is no "Screenshot" Folder in my RA2 directory, i decided to make one, nothing happened. And the print screen, i tried that, went to paint and suprise suprise, nothing, the paste thing said nothing had been copied

THATS why i use them

Oh and Sparkles, expect a PM from me later during the day

So thats the story for you. Would love to answer question but quite frankly, that will be pointless

The screenshots folder should create itself when you hit F11 ingame, making your first screenshot.

What's remotely harsh about that?

I don't see why it shouldn't work, even creating a new folder called "Screenshots" works fine for me.
Title: Re: Velocity's stock showcase: A fresh start
Post by: Naryar on December 28, 2010, 11:00:36 AM
There is no need to create such a folder.

The RA2 game comes with NO Screenshots folder and NO Custom Textures folder, so it's normal. It will create one when you take your first screenshot/export your first texture.

OK apologies for not being active yesterday (Internet router was playing up) Sparkey, your still gonna expect a PM from me

Nar, i installed it correctly

Though it should not really matter what i use to take the pic, cos 1 as long as you can see the bot perfectly, theres not problem, and 2 shouldn't we concentrate on the bots other than what to use for screenshots

I can't see the bot, the pics are fuzzy, and you used the worst host out there. Install sages RA2 to your desktop, run it, hit f11, it WILL BE IN THE GAME FOLDER.

OK, to clarify, feck is the Irish way of saying, you know what, and when i said barely out of the woods i was saying you havent really fully regain everyones respect (Mine included) and saying i dont listen is something you had trouble, i know your trying to help and all.
