meet prodder, an attempt at a MW piston rammer thing. armour is titanium. please let me know what you think.
-
It's... big?
Amusingly, this is a extremely common design for stock newbies.
Use round extenders, they're really much better than any other extender in stock. Excepted for spinners.
Rule of thumb : try to make your bot the lightest possible without compromising any of it's qualities (offense, defense, speed, looks, etc)
-
it's..ugly to put it lightly..

no can do with the round extenders, there's no way to gauge where the two attachment points are facing, so it's complete guesswork.
-
if you rotate components they are turned by 10° aka you have to turn the extenter 9 tome to make it 90°. you just have to find out which direction you have to turn.
-
That or get sage's skin pack.

Yes you can, no there is, and no it's not. You think i'm giving you crap advice ? There is a way to gauge where the AP's are facing. Try switching attachment points when you make long racks of 20cm extenders to hold weapons.

modified slightly, new weapon setup and batteries
-
Shrink the chassis so there's a near-airtight fit around your components. Then replace the batteries in there with a single black.
Check out my MW poker, Quote, to see what you should be doing (but of course you can use irons or razors instead of maces if they're easier to use):

-
Now you're doing it wrong with batteries... use just one nifty for 2 HPZ's. Don't change the drive. Put 2 weapons on each 20cm extender.
Also build to weight limit.
-
more modifications

The chassis is still way too big.
-
Also 1 large air tank is better than 2 small ones.
And you need a homogenous rack, so the weapons all hit at the same time.
-
whats with all this empty space around the picture ? we cant see anything at that angle, a topdown view would probably be better

how might i go about building a honogenous rack?
-
Use only razors. Rotate them more if you can't insert them.
-
after a certain point, they simply refuse to go in, that's why i used pole spikes instead of razors there, becaue razors wouldn't fit. no matter how much i twist them
-
effe glitch them on?
-
i don't think that will work with pistons
-
Pretty sure it will, it's worth a shot at least.
-
just tried it, no dice i'm afraid
-
Rotate the ones around it so it will fit?
-
It's not exactly effeing. But it's close to it, so should we call it piston effeing ?
1-put piston and extender rack
2-hover razor above extender rack until it locks to an attachment point : DO NOT click and actually attach it
3-Fire piston, make sure the mouse cursor won't move during steps 3 and 4. You will see the razor still floating in space.
4-When the piston is at the end of it's course, attach razor in space. You will see it floating in space, but moving with the piston. If you have moved the cursor during steps 3 and 4, the attachment will fail.
5-attach more razors with the same technique

success.
-
Nice, now shrink the chassis moar
-
Looks good, I would raise the pistons though.
-
current order list
1. shrink chassis
2. raise pistons
anything else?
-
Use only one piston, and one T-connector. Then add moar razors, and use a large air tank.
Also, get a smaller chassis.
-
Btw, I like the 1 random red extender.

sorry about the wait. getting the extenders in place is a real pain.
-
i dont see any batteries
its also very underweight
-
...No batteries?
-
...No batteries?
*facedesk*
i forgot completely -_-
-
Batteries aside, it's getting there. I noticed the razors are all rotated differently. You also have another 100 kgs you could use, try adding defense. Is it invertible?

Apart from that, you are improving.

A Nifty would be fine for this. Add casters for defense, you still have the weight

a nifty won't fit, do you mean caster Armour, or one on the underside?
-
Caster armor. Try different arrangements until you can get a Nifty, because pinks aren't very efficient and using lots of them fills up weight.
-
Rebuild the chassis if it won't fit then.
-
Stop using small battery packs.
-
you only need 2 pinks at most for this.
-
you only need 2 pinks at most for this.
1 nifty will also suffice for 2 motors but yeah you can use 2 pinks if you really need the smaller chassis, 8 pinks is just dumb
its still underwight aswell
-
i'm cuurently experimenting with chassis types and component arrangements. this will take some time...
-
alright, sorry i haven't posted here in a while.
anyway, fans. i have a new bot for you to look at:

please let me know what you think
i know it has a ballast in it. sorry naryar.
-
no stabilizers ?
unnesscarry ballast ??
EMPTY SPACE ???
-
there are casters on the underside, and the ballast helps with balance
-

thats not how ra2 works.
-
Actually, ballast does help a little.
-
Team, are you using Stock AIs?
-
ima kill you
-
instead of using a ballast in the back get some wedges on that thing
-

i'll give it a try, can't hurt, right?
-
Personally ballasts are only good for a Stock IRL flipper.

Personally ballasts are only good for a Stock IRL flipper.
Even then, they're pretty horrible.
-
the reason i put ballasts in is to stop is falling over forwards when i stop driving, the inertia makes it difficult to handle.
damn you, physics!
