Obviously I'm new to this forum. I'm kinda new to this game, but i have learned about some of the glitches and stuff. I'd like some advice. Here are a few of my heavyweights.

Not bad at all. Already have to avoid a lot of things we usually have to go over with new builders. Welcome!
Slice and Dice: The extenders with only a single weapon on it make the weapons even more brittle. You can just remove those extenders and attach the weapons either to larger disks or disks the same size. Also, that chassis is really tall. Try to find a way to put everything in a chassis that is as tall as your tallest component, which in this case is the green snapper at 7 notches tall.
Ghouls Grasp: Not much really to say here, other than that you need to learn to stack black batteries. also, are the weapon motors that are attached to the disks attached via Servo? if so, Learn to also use that blue snapper you used for the drive.
Bloody Success: Good as is. Rammers are all about what you are happy with.
-
INF- he stacked the blacks on bloody, so we know he can, and also you only need 6 pixels for the green snapper.
-
Yeah blacks are hard to stack sometimes, i did it in my rammer, but i didn't feel like taking the time to do it again. And the motors are attached by servo. I had just installed the ai components, so I haven't been able to use the blue snapper too greatly yet.
-
Nice rammer.
If you have 2 blacks you won't need a pink battery.
-
uhhhhhh hes better than me!
-
Very nice stuff for a newbie. I was thinking "Lets see how many custom components this guy uses" when I first saw this.
Just keep up on improving your effe and snapper loading skills and youll be an eccelent builder in no time :D
-
naryar - I wasn't sure what else to do with my extra weight, so i just stuck that battery in there haha.
-
Here's another one. I made it awhile ago so i wasted a lot of weight using like 12 pinks instead of blacks.

There are a lot of things you can do to make this better.
Cut down weight where you use too much of it(extender setups, snappers for stacking), switch to blacks, and get some wedges.
-
The left picture looks good but when you look from the back into the inside, it's totally crappy (compared to your others).
-
This is the design I'm working on for Ghoul's Grasp. Servos probably need to be replaced with snapper 2s. But this one killed every heavyweight on Starcore v3 first try, most of them quite easily. Anybody that can give me a link for Starcore v4 beta or whatever?

heh, I like how it looks.
-
Also my updated version of Slice and Dice. DSA, 2 blacks. Any advice on either robot?

On slice & Dice and Ghoul's Grasp, show better inside pics (kinda hard to see), and show the weights.
-
updated
-
Wow. Very good.
How effective are the side things on Slice and Dice. Are they for stability?
-
Yeah, and the ramplate on the back stabilizes too.
-
On Ghoul's Grasp
Rotate the dual stacked spikes into a vertical position, so both hit at the same time.
-
Winged phantom: Try not to use angle extenders, they waste weight. I would also turn the plow around to catch spinners better.
-
Hello sakkahr, on GG3 you'd save a shed load of weight stacking batteries, also, is it just the wheels in those side pods, if so, get rid of them, use the weight for more armour, but great job, you've got the concepts perfectly. on S&D3 you seem to be wasting quite a lot of space, and no real need for rear armour, try to minimilize your extender use and try to bulk up the side armour, you've got the stacking here to a t, good job sir
-
@ Barbie - On GG3 thats not for the wheels, its for the servos that the weapon motors are on. I'm gonna be replacing the servos with blue snappers. On S&D3, everything barely fits in the chassis, except i could bring it in a bit more on the sides where the drive motors are. And i suppose if i didnt use all the baseplate anchors i could find a way to make it smaller.
-
Alright obviously this robot is nowhere near completed, I made it in about 10 minutes just to experiment. Is it possible to make this design work well?

maybe it would work better if you had those pistons on a burst motor. a lot of dls robots do that
-
A LOT ??
There is only one Stock pneumatic enhanced hammer really known and this is Team SpaceStation's Meteor (I'm not talking of side hammers), and i did built a Meteor ripoff in DSL...
But yes it might.
-
a lot of dls robots do that
...dl? Who the heck is that.
-
It's DSL... the newbie just typo'ed.

-
Infinite or Pys had DDT enhanced piston hammers at some point i believe.
-
@Sage: That is a poker, not a hammer. I'm talking about putting pistons on burst motors.
@Kill: Were these Meteor-style, or Pys's Toxicity and Little Metal Friend, eg Trinity side hammers ?
-
Nope,2 of mine are Hammer-Pistons (MW&HW) and I have one piston-popup (HW)
-
Piston popup?! =L
-
yehz. Powerful at the least.
-
Is it gonna be in one of your teams? :D
@ Sakkahr- I can see some potential in that bot. Use 2 pistons instead of 4 because you can attach a lot of weapons already with 2 pistons. And try to angle them a bit forward instead of directing them downward to you don't need the opponent to be that close. See Madiaba's Skinhead as an example. :D
-
Yeah I forgot I made that MW piston hammer, worked nice just couldnt work out the bugs.
-
holy sh**. your better then me and i've had RA2 for 1 1/2 years now and only started experimenting with glitches in stock (done alot in dsl though lol)
-
This is what I came up without working on the chassis at all. I would put more weapons and less burst pistons, but I'm running into the problem that you can only attach 7 things in a row.

-
Here's what I would do.
45 degree anchor > a long extender (you decide) > piston > 20 cm with the side AP facing left or right (then add a razor to the main AP) > another 20 cm attached to that side AP > 2 razors
And put the side plows and ramplates on 2 Snapper IIs.
And instead of samurai swords, just use the 2 ramplates you had from the Snapper IIs.
Then you can use the extra weight to add a rack of axes in front. :D
-
Eh, I'll work on a design with the pistons angled, but my wedges cause the other robot to be up at a little bit of an angle, so the angled pistons might not be able to hit it well, just sorta scraping the top.
-
Servo + Piston = bad.
-
Inf - Yeah, I was going to change that when I change the chassis.
-

Hah, you think that's bad, I've been around nearly since the beginning and I'm STILL trying to figure out how to make one of those large weapon count HSs.
Anyway, great bots.
