PixelCrunchRA2's Slightly Cool Stock Showcase!
« on: July 13, 2016, 01:39:56 PM »
Ok Guys, this is my Heavyweight punchbot called...BIG BUTT! It's a half-jokebot, half punchbot, because it's in the shape of a pink butt, and the pickaxes come out of the buttcheeks, so it looks like it's farting out pickaxes! :laughing It has 3 pistons, 6 pickaxes, 2 large airtanks, 5 small airtanks, 4 HP Z-Tek drive, 2 Nifty batteries, and Titanium Armor! Please say a comment about this bot.

I donno if you're familiar with the Back to the Beginnings series of tournaments, but you're in good shape if another one ever comes around.

It's a jokebot, so there's not really a lot we can say advice-wise.

Thanks for cropping your images, though!  A lot of new members don't do that.

My Bot is very powerful, it's common to see damages of from 250-500 in a single hit.

What about weapon, motor, ect. Improvement?

Oh, well in that case:

The best weapons in Stock are razor tips, maces, and iron spikes.  Some other stuff is situationally useful, but those are the ones to stick to.
HP-Zteks are the best drive motor, and you've used those so good job there!
Shiny hub wheels are the best wheels since they're the lightest, and all the wheels have the same grip.

Also, your bot is super tall.  Most bots are built 5 "clicks" tall on the chassis screen - this gives you enough space to put HP-Zteks in, but is still short enough for the bot to be invertible with shiny hub wheels.  You have enough battery, but using one Supervolt is (I believe) slightly lighter than two Nifties.

I am trying to save as much weight as possible without passing the 800.0 KG limit, and I need the leftover weight incase of needed modifications.

That's good!  In RA2, you always want to build as close to the weight limit as possible - otherwise you're at a disadvantage.  Making a compact chassis is critical in terms of keeping weight down, as well as using the right parts.

Oh also, you might already know this, but for Stock bots, DSA armour is the way to go.

half-jokebot, half punchbot
What's a 'punch bot'? Do you mean 'poker'?

Ok, Here's my next bot, it's a serious bot, but it has a joke name, it's called GARY BUSEY.
It has 2 normal Z-Tek drive, 140 cm square extender, 80 cm black round extender, titanium armor, and a single supervolt. Please respond.

That's relatively old. Let me rephrase, then. Did you make this robot prior to your knowledge of DSA?

People will post if they feel they have sufficient advice to give you and they feel like posting it. They also have to see your post, too. So, just give people a chance and don't be impatient. You needn't bump your showcase after 20 minutes of no replies.

Same stuff as before, mostly:

-HP-Zteks
-Shiny hub wheels
-Use good weapons
-Compact chassis
-DSA armour

Also, a Supervolt battery is overkill for this bot, you only need a Nifty.  The rule is 1 Nifty = 2 spin motors, or 1 Supervolt = 4 spin motors.  (All spin motors use the same amount of power because RA2 is not a very good game.)

Ok, Thracker, thanks for the advice, but don't you need to build to the weight limit, if I use a nifty, won't it be underweight? Also, I want to keep my bot running for long periods of time, that is why I used supervolt.

You use that weight to add more weapons/armour.
