Title: mryoo37's stock showcase
Post by: mryoo37 on April 06, 2016, 07:45:35 AM
Hi :)

This is my stock showcase.

I only made RA2 stock HW. And I cant use many glitches. (Axle Loading, Stacking .etc) But I can use a few glitches. So I'm not a good builder :(

But I tried my best. Enjoy my bots.

My major teams..

For a new builder these bots are just exquisite, how long have you been lurking this site ?

Sweet stuff. Which way does Nightmare's drum spin? It looks like Drumblebee with the weapons reversed.

With SnapperII wedges, you must never EVER attach anything else to the other attachment point, doing this makes the wedge itself irredeemably bad.

This is easily the strongest first post in a showcase I've seen.  Do you use any AI packs?

Yeah, it would be better with the weapon reversed. That way you lift up the opponent and get to their chassis first instead of whatever weapons are in front of their robot.

These are impressive! I understand most of them started out as clones, but that is certainly a good way to learn and I'm sure you'll be able to come up with some good original bots in the future. As you said, the next step in improving is to learn stacking and snapper loading which can save lots of weight on heavier bots such as these. Specifically, with snapper loading you can replace all the servos in your bots with blue snappers (other than the one holding the tribar) which are not only lighter but provide two attachment points.

Drum: Not sure which version this was based off of, but I recall one of the more well-known Drumblebee iterations had a self-righting stinger at the back; your bot should also have some way of flipping itself if it gets inverted. I suspect the blue snapper wedges won't be strong enough for that. I also question the use of razors for such an exposed weapon and the granny wheels
Juggler: See, in this case razors are good because they will either not get hit or are grinding another bot's underside. The e-wedge is efficient in terms of weight vs. area covered, but I think a ramplate would be better since it can cover the extender that it's attached to, leaving the setup less exposed. Same goes for the lawnmower blades; it doesn't look like their length is being very useful so try ramplates or raised casters (which are invincible). Again, don't think blue snappers can self-right well
Popup: Not sure if this one is actually a clone. Anyway, the rear plow is not that useful but you can keep it since you have so much extra weight. With the other 36kg, maybe try adding plows on the side to protect the wheels or add more weaponry?

Please try to give us some stats for your bots as we can't see everything all the time. Number of weapons, number of drive motors, number of batteries, armour, etc.

Nice! Love that you're taking inspiration from the AI packs.

Keep it up. Also, crop your images :)

Solid bots for a newbie. These look about Starcore 3/PYS AI tier.

I feel like your juggler would made better if you could mount the frontal armor on an anchor and upgrade the side weapons from razors to irons with the weight saved.

These are SO DOPE. Please don't change your style. I feel like it's 2008 again. I want to see more.

I want to have 6 bots for each team at AI bots.
I installed 'Starcore AI V4' but it didn't allow me to fight 6 bots for each team
Somebody help me?
Install V3 before installing v4. V4 lacks the UI files to allow 6 bots per team.

And I tried Snapper Loading. But it didn't fly away as a sage's video.
Someone explain me to do Snapper Loading in detail
It's exactly the same as Sage's video. Attach a RAD to a burst motor, spin the motor, and swap back and forth between tabs until the axles flies away.

I also tried battery stacking. But I can't find certain point to stack.
It needs experienced skills or just a kind of luck?
It's a mix of both. There is some luck involved, but when you get good at it, it usually takes less than 20 seconds to stack black batteries.

Or better yet, get the Ultimate Stock AI Pack (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/Ultimate%20Stock%20AI.zip) as it has Starcore V4 on top of BBEANS AI, Inf AI, PYS AI, and Restocked in one packet.
(Difficulty goes from PYS AI > Middleweights in BBEANS AI > Starcore V4 > everyone else in BBEANS AI > Inf AI > Restocked)

This is just prototype
Prototype? Prototype? What is prototype? and your building skill so very good.

Nice job, that is very well-built. Since you can go up to 800.0 kg, I suggest adding ramplates or snowplows to protect the wheels at the back as well as bracket wedges or snowplows above the weapons to stop bots from flying over. Also, other bots with wedges will get under you because you attached all the weapons to the SnapperII motors holding the wedges. It would be best to use a separate pair of burst motors for just the wedges.

Also do you play LoL?

Hello :D

I was a little bit busy at weekends.

Anyway, I finally did snapper loading. As you said, it was not that hard.

So maybe I have to go through AI bots to use snapper loading effectively.

This is just prototype. :P

This pack was amazing. It will help my skills to make bots.

Thank you so much :D
You still have 100 kgs to go, you'd want to switch to rubber wheels to make the wedge better and get some side and top trappers so that the opponent can't run away, for that you can either use battle-axes/plows/bracket wedge/ramplates or figure out a weapon setup that'll let you get extra damage and some deweaponing ability while still being able to trap effectively.

Looks really messy, you need to shred out as much empty space as possible.

I'd replace the vertical ramplates on your vertical spinner with plows and bring the back wheels in more.

I really like the popup. Very clean.

I like the VS a lot but that isn't enough weapons for a HW. I'd look into redoing the armor and using the ramplates more efficiently to get you some weight for more irons.

1. I assume you are talking about popups, so 3 Razors for Snapper 2s and 4 - 5 for DDTS

2. http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/ra2stats.htm

3. Some people think so, but I personally don't think a heavier burst helps wedgeness

irons aren't as good as razors on popups.
