Quote from: Fracture on September 06, 2012, 10:05:03 PMCan't really see the front flipper setup. Where are the blades attached, on DDTs? Also I would reduce weight somewhere to get better protection on your wedges that doesn't get in the way unlike those extenders. How is it against SnS/Maelstrom or some 36HS/Alien Queen? And does it still do well in an arena like BBEANS where there's no super-fast initial charge?so theres a 20cm extender, then a bracket on the end, then a blade on the side ap of the 20cm (aka on the bottom) (yeah not really doing much, probably going to move them onto the wedges where they would do something, thus solving the wedge protection issue)and it can get both sns and 36+hs (most of the time, had trouble with mr claws 2)havent tested it yet in the bbeans arena but i assume itd do a bit worse than in the dsl tourney arena, ill edit this post once i test it thereQuote from: Virus Bomb on September 06, 2012, 10:17:20 PMQuote from: Gauche Suede on September 06, 2012, 09:19:14 PM but can you make the wedge also fire when the flippers fire, you know, to increase flipping power?.that would actually decrease flipping power because the weight of the bot that's being flipped would cause the the flipper to tilt over.see: stock ai sentinelQuote from: Squirrel_Monkey on September 07, 2012, 01:15:02 AMQuote from: Virus Bomb on September 06, 2012, 10:17:20 PMQuote from: Gauche Suede on September 06, 2012, 09:19:14 PM but can you make the wedge also fire when the flippers fire, you know, to increase flipping power?.that would actually decrease flipping power because the weight of the bot that's being flipped would cause the the flipper to tilt over.Maybe if the wedge fired downwards.i could try that.... but i dont think 2 green snappers are enough to fire the 800 kg flipping bot upwards

(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)this one is called PurpleSands II, a sequel to a bot i accidentally baleeted a good time ago (it had an internal hpz 9 irons and plastic i think), this was mainly inspired by fractures 9 mace dsa hs so i decided to make one of my own without the motor being overly exposed to enemy attacks (idk if it gets hit by hammers though, even though there arent a whole ton of lw hammers anyway) and with narrowness not being a problem. as a hs its awful (DISAPPOINTING, ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING) because it has absolutely no stability (just like the original PurpleSands) but when i started using it as a sns most of the stability problems went away magically. and yes that is Anty C's chassis. dsa (!) 9 maces (9000 hp) and 1 nifty, cb is under the rads
I think SM is a pretty cool guy, eh builds unicycle-bots and doesn't afraid of anything
But can it beat 18HS?
Quote from: Squirrel_Monkey on September 20, 2012, 04:06:28 PMBut can it beat 18HS?it does pretty well against tornado v0.1, mainly luck of "who outweapons who first"if your talking about your 1wd 18spinner thingamabob named "18hs" then ill have to go download it and see
bam. 3000 posts(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)^this bot is around 1-2 month(s) old^crusade 2 has to be possibly the largest stock hw in exsistance. its even wider than the second iteration of O_O (this is as wide as stock bots get) and it has a long ass wedge (200 cm worth of extender). dsa 2 blacks 4wd hpz ddt wedges and 10 (?) razors. dispite what you may think the weapon motors and the extenders holding the drive are pretty secured against hs until its really beaten and battered (these lawnmower blades are pretty useful against hs though) and the only bots that can get at the weapon motors are popups that get under it, but if anything gets under crusade2 its screwed anyway. wedge is decent, probably a bit better than nwb

But i think turning it into a true popup will make it better.
You got my vote for RA2 Wizard. Always and forever.
Wait when did you learn to build? O.o
Would it fare any better if the wedges were on the outside of the 140cm squaries rather than the inside?
Quote from: NFX on September 22, 2012, 04:44:29 PMWould it fare any better if the wedges were on the outside of the 140cm squaries rather than the inside?nah i think it would be too wide for the wedges to hit anything if i flipped the sqares overQuote from: Sage on September 29, 2012, 01:01:19 PMWait when did you learn to build? O.oi have no idea. i guess it just kinda clicked sometime between may and julyalso, 1/2 my entry for that challenge against gauche, pursuit:(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)i will be entering crusade 2 aswell, so i need something to be able to outmaneuver any 4wd popups while crusade takes out any hs if gauche decides to throw a 36hs ay me. does better against wedges/gutrippers but worse against hs and the such. 6 hpz 2 blacks dsa 8 razors on 2 ddts, wedge is probably a fair bit better than crusade's (its the 6wd) but worse than hot wheels/nuculear falloutTLDR poopup
