Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: infiniteinertia on January 15, 2009, 04:12:40 PM
yo.

I've been quite the busy man as of late, but I'm pretty much finished my own AI pack as well as the ReStocked. Except for the Rookie team...

I've decided to release my beautiful creations here..I've had them in hiding for too long. I have redone a lot of bots, and I still have about 5 or 6 to finish redoing. As well as about 6 more new planned but thats about it, and then my  90bot pack will be complete.

I don't really have time right now (snowboarding and baseball) so I will try and post some tomorrow morning since I will be off from schoool.

Farewell - iNF

Can't wait to see them, II ... maybe one of these days I'll get off my butt and get my own re-stock bots AI'd ....

Hmmm......... RA2 ..... snowboarding ...... baseball ..... Looks like you gotta give up something, so we can send a couple of guys over to break either an arm or a leg, whichever you choose.  I think it should be the leg - kinda hard to type and control a mouse with one arm in a cast.....

Team#1 Cuantem Fysix

(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/19480Cuantem Fysix.bmp)

2LW,2MW,2HW

TOP (L to R): Mini Maced, Le\/eL III, Sonar 2
BOTTOM (L to R): High Entropy AV, Countdown*, ArtillerY*

Team themed skin, only Artillery* and Sonar 2 do not yet have individual skins.

ArtillerY looks like a real killer.

I'm unsure about countdowns weapons, though.

16 irons on a disc VS is enough.

I like your disc VS and your MW rammer.

Post by: R0B0SH4RK on January 17, 2009, 06:18:33 PM
The big VS (MW I'm guessing) looks really cool, but the weapon reach looks to be a problem. Is ArtillerY still invertible with rubbers and the ram plate? And LeVeL's motors look like they're just waiting to be eaten by a bot like Maced.

Very high quality bots though. I look forward to seeing more.

The scoop on all six:

Mini MaceD - LW HS, very cliched. Powerful and stable. I am the maceking, therefore I invented maces and their effectiveness, therefore I<3 them. Airtight chassis. Even have a mace protecting the tribar at its vital point.

Le\/eL III - Much better than 1 (the BBEANS 3 2nd Place), and just smaller chassis than II. Weapons were drastically lowered and protected after BBEANS, and now can at least scoot around up side down.  Very dangerous.

Sonar 2 - Heavily Weaponed, very fast MW Rammer. Boasting 14 (I think, maybe 12?) Axes. 4WHPD with nifty. Airtight.

High Entropy AV - Most of you are not familiar with the original High Entropy (ask me if you want to see it) but those of you who remember the original High Entropy from its 2nd  Place finish in the first and only official BTEST tournament, this version is quite different. Much smaller chassis, cut down from double stacked weapon motors. Extended lateral length of legs for stability and maximized caster armor effectiveness. The reach on it is fine...I actually made absolute sure of it. I also forgot to mention, took the crappy RAD drive it used to have and at least made it ZTEK drive, with ice pick protection. All MW tribar VSerz are quite vulnerable, especially to wedgy popups or HSerz, but dont mess with this guy.

Countdown* - For those who play(ed) with me often online, they know this bot to be one of my 3 signature bots. VERY GOOD. Tremendous VS uplift and trapping capabilities. For 4WHPD on a HW, it is surprisingly quick (oh it'l getcha when you least expect, just ask Sagey, he took the brunt of this thing back in the day :]). Probably one of my oldest bots that never really needed design change (only slight weapon motor re-aligning, hence the *).

ArtillerY* - Fast, narrow powerful, protected. What's more to say. Oh yeah, tops protected. Oh yeah...still invertible.

All have DSA 'cept Sonar 2.

Post by: Naryar on January 18, 2009, 07:39:05 AM
I was wondering something...

Why do you love maces that much? Yes, there are generally better for defense, but technically they do less damage than irons...
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: System32 on January 18, 2009, 07:46:16 AM
It's all about the size, I think. Maces are easier to work with when building bots with intersecting weapons (36 HS, Drums) and take less time to place. With less time to make bots, you have more time to test and improve the bot in question.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: Somebody on January 18, 2009, 08:12:57 AM
They are actually harder to place next to each other, because of the bigger, rounder mesh, whereas iron spikes have the skinny, easy to stack mesh.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: System32 on January 18, 2009, 08:16:15 AM
That's on the same tribar. But when you have two interescing tribars, or 4, it's harder to do that with Irons rather than maces, because you can't eFFe with intersecting irons.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: Naryar on January 18, 2009, 09:34:25 AM
Somebody's right.

You don't even need to eFFe to add irons on a "classic" 36 iron HS (with 2 extenders on each tribar tip), unlike maces.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: infiniteinertia on January 18, 2009, 09:38:48 AM
Somebody is right. Nary and S32, wrong.

Yes the mesh for the maces absolutely suck, but it really doest affect much. And Nary, Maces do MORE damage than irons (check the .txt's d000d).

And I am pretty sure I am the one who started mass usage of the maces as weapons...
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: Naryar on January 18, 2009, 09:52:05 AM
Well, if you say it, but about the txt's we have irons 0.8p/0.1c and maces 0.5p/0.5c, and with Click's damage potential formula, irons do slightly more damage.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: infiniteinertia on January 18, 2009, 09:56:46 AM
put a 36 iron HS against a 36 mace HS, just watch the mace one win everytime.everyyyyyytime.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: Somebody on January 18, 2009, 10:09:32 AM
Hey inf, why don't you build a 36 iron AC and put it against the 36 mace AC? Then post a vid or pic or something of tprobably the most destructive non-SHW match ever.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: System32 on January 18, 2009, 10:22:13 AM
Better idea: wait for BBEANS 5.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: infiniteinertia on January 18, 2009, 10:26:59 AM
considering I (and Sage, yes) invented the 36 HS, there has already been many fights between mace ones and iron ones. The maces have NEVER lost. AC was originally Irons, switched to Maces when I discovered they were better.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: Sage on January 18, 2009, 03:50:13 PM
It's the truth. I have gotten close many a time. what happens is the maces start falling off first, but then all the irons go away at about the same time. Maces  have shorter reach, but on an HS that doesn't matter, especially when they protect the extender. The main weakness of the HS design is the very vulerable extenders, so maces are the clear choice for most HS. Bearclaws are also very nice, but don't do as much damage. (I don't care what the .txt says. I have no reason to check except to defend my argument, which i don't have to unless someone attacks it. If the .txt says it's better, I don't care, cause I saw what happened to my 48 claw HS against AC.)

^Long parentheses. But the point is, Maces are very good, bearclaws are amazing for their weight, Irons have good reach but aren't very durable.

So that means we should start using maces instead of irons?

No, it means that Irons have lost their place as the Main choice for HS.

S32: that happened a long time ago.

Besides, irons offer next to no extender protection whatsoever. Against a mace HS, the extenders on iron HS's fall off incredibly easily, basically rendering the 3 spikes you had absoltely useless.

What IS BTEST?
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: infiniteinertia on January 19, 2009, 10:44:55 AM
Bot-Test: Everyone was given the same chassis and you had to build a bot out of it. The contest had 3 judges (at the time I think it was eFFe, Pysc, and SpyGuy) and the three categories to be judges off of was Space Used, Effectiveness, and Originality I believed. There was going to be a second one, but there never really was a second one because there were all these unofficial ones on the side and no one ever really came up with a better category to be judged other than space used.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: SpyGuy on January 19, 2009, 11:41:49 AM
I wouldn't mind seeing the B-Test come back again.  I had a bunch of different chassis designs that were going to be used for it, and two of my designs are still in use.

They all look good, though I don't like Diamond V's non-invertibility. I'm guessing you didn't build it recently.

And does Wavelength have DSA? From what I've tried I can't get close to that setup and DSA. Also, how does it preform?

R0B0: Who said it needed to be invertible to be good? Wavelength is DSA, it performs pretty well for its design.

SD: Is there an official SC4? No...I believe that is Infra.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: Clickbeetle on January 25, 2009, 10:40:09 PM
I've tried designs similar to Medium 2 and they always fail because the weapons get torn off by HS before they can reach the meaty center.  And with that V-shape of casters, it's a shame to not be able to beat HS's.  Have you had better luck with Medium?

Wavelength is cool, and Infra just looks good.  And nothing at all like Inside the Clock.

featuring three new bots!

two super awesome lightweights that needed to replace other dysfunctional ones:

first, on the left, is Quark.

he is an animal really, a very powerful LW HS. Sporting 6 maces on a HP (enhanced of course) RAD Drive w/ Shinies, a Nifty, and a Snowplow for armor! I think its DSA...and I've never seen a LW HS built like this ever before.

On the right, Incisor, a mad-lil' SnS dual flailer. You can count the razors and guess everything else. DESTRUCTIVE. Doesn't really lose to much.

Both of these LWs are top of the line. It was hard to skin creatively Quark because its chassis is so ittybitty.

Heres a little thing I'm almost completed on; needs a skin, filled weight, and tuning. The 'Halogen' Project:

763.5 I believe.

Trying to get finished my third team (which Incisor is a part of), and i just need to fill a spot where Platform of Death used to be, because it was a failure compared to how much hope I had for it.

Incisor looks vicious.  Sort of along the lines of what I would do if I made a LW Chain Reaction, except I don't think I would have thought of angling the razors like that.  What kind of damage does it get?

Quark looks like a LW HS I made a while ago (right here (https://gametechmods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=798&page=3)).
Mine glitched a lot though, limiting its effectiveness. Does yours have the same problem?

(Could you also post a pic of it's rear? I think I know how you did it, and a pic would be great conformation if I'm right or wrong.)

The other two look epic, especially the S&S.

The razors would be along the floor basically if I did not angle them. However, I may have angled them one notch too much...but it still performs great.

Nope mine does not glitch whatsoever. Mine is more perfectly stacked using a cleaner and lighter setup, which could be a factor. A picture of the rear would not help...theres nothing sticking out of the back.

2 LW, 2 MW, 2 HW

TOP (L to R): DoomeD, Incisor, PlagueD
BOTTOM (L to R): Casualty, Paroxysm II, (the NEW) Platform of Death III

Only Incisor has its own skin, as seen in the picture, the rest have the team themed skin.

Had to ditch the 'angled platform jugglers' on the newest P.o.D. cause they were goddamn unstable. what you get is the new best juggler around (Cocytus is up there with it, SD)

Hope you all enjoy.

However, Casualty looks like it has exposed extenders against a mace HS, and i'm not sure about your 2 ice pick HS, especially against other HS. But if it's for variety then respect.

I'm kinda iffy about seeing clones in an ai pack. can POD3 beat NWB often?

Other than that I like the the other 5 bots.

If you're really gonna pull that sh**, leave. Not even close to a clone.

I love Paroxysm (4 chained disc VS :O), your flail SnS (you know that already) and PoD (Jugglers ftw).

However, Casualty looks like it has exposed extenders against a mace HS, and i'm not sure about your 2 ice pick HS, especially against other HS. But if it's for variety then respect.

They all have 3 picks per tip. All work great contrary to what you think.

Casualty is actually VERY dangerous. Ask anyone who has fought it online.

And yes, Paroxysm is one of those bots where I was just fooling around with an idea, built a first version, and greatly improved it.

KCOOL.

Team #5: Enforcers!

2 LW, 2 MW, 2 HW

TOP (L to R): Patrol, Detector, Maced 2
BOTTOM (L to R): Vanquish, Barrier, Silver Bullet 2

Vanquish is arguably the best MW popup ever IMO and Maced 2 is a very solid, very well protected high powered HS. 2 maces per tribar tip. the others are a decent LW popup, a LW piston rammer, a 4wd Piston Rammer, and a wildly stacked HW rammer that scored lots of points and damage. The negative? Overall, weak all around, one dimensional.

Well I'm interested about your MW popup. It looks great, but where do you got all that weight for the ramplates? I guess 2 blue snappers, HPZ drive, but 2 blacks or DDT's ?

I was working on an Imperial Faction clone with rubbers inside the chassis, but i never got the weight to put on armor.

3 razors on a DDT on the LW popup if i'm not mistaken...

I was fooling around with a bot similar to Project DeathTrap, except mine was a Mome Rath style VS that had the disks drop when a bot got under it. I thought if the wheel base could be made large enough, it could trick the AI to go directly under it without attacking any of it's wheels. I had very little sucess, and the bot got deleted when the copy of RA2 I had it in got completely corrupted. I really like the concept of having it RPB-style though.

Reaxion 2 looks alot like one of my Karnivore bots too :P

This was supposed to be my third team, but I removed two bots and haven't replaced them yet. One was a blatant clone, and the other was a great idea that was poorly executed.

Team #7(?) Polar Destroyers

(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/57206Polar Destroyers.bmp)

2 LW, 2 MW, 2 HW

TOP (L to R): Ironcicle, ?, Aurora 2
BOTTOM (L to R): SubZero, Avalancha, ?

A powerful LW HS (Ironcicle), a MW Insectoid, kinda (Aurora 2), a great MW popup, another, (SubZero), and a Stratocaster/Lethal Forace type Piston rammer (Avalancha).

All good bots, but Aurora is the only creative-ish one.

Stock section really blows this week.

My next team, hopefully to draw more attention to myself...

Team #8: Numb

The typical: 2 LW, 2 MW, 2 HW

TOP (L to R): Disdain V, FaKtor II, Deep Blue IV
BOTTOM (L to R): Minimum, MAXIMUM, Continuum (Reborn)

I used to hate this team, but now I loveeee it. Probably if not the most original team I have, it is one of the most original. Continuum and MAXIMUM are pretty legendary bots. Both are unique weapon designs, relying on the sheer power of the combination of Pistons and Burst Motors. Continuum (Reborn) as a very powerful hammer, and MAXIMUM as a very powerful Piston Popup. Continuum is in its 3rd, and final, stage. MAXIMUM I never rebuilt, and never really felt the need to. I transferred the idea of Contiuum SUCCESSFULLY into a MW that is Minimum; HP Drive and all. DeepBlue IV is a very great all around bot. It is a popup that can survive the heavy hitters, as well as the other popups; GREAT wedges. The lightweights are all fresh out the oven. Disdain is now in its fifth edition. Sporting 6 razors on 2 axle enhanced Zteks; it now sports a snowplow. Cant get rid of the darn plastic though... Some of you will be confused by FaKtor II, because it has no armor and Ztek drive. We'll, doubt its ability all you want; it's fast, and very good.

Thats what I have to say about this team.

Somewhat, but Minimum is a lot more of an "all or nothing" than Continuum because of the sheer lack of weaponry. With that said, you don't want any exposed parts of your bot getting hit by it though.

Do the razors really help much? (both the fixed ones and the spinners)
And what of the maces on the butt?
I was going to suggest ditching the spinning razors and replace them with small extenders to point a few more irons outwards to join the others.  I tried to do a mock-up to screen shot but i could not get the extenders to point outward in a uniform way that would be nice and tidy. But I think you know what I mean.  Just a suggestion.  Looks cool though.  How combat effective is it so far?
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: infiniteinertia on June 28, 2009, 01:49:14 PM
Very combat effective.

The wedges, surprisingly, are good.

The maces on behind are on the back for counter-balancing and some protection.

Razors protect disks.

I'm bored and I kind of feel like posting some progress.

This is Spore:

(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/84274Spore simplesplash.jpg)

I had a different version like this, that someone on this forum built very similarly to. I think it was Hurricane Andrew? Please correct me if not...but seeing a similar version inspired me to improve mine. DSA, 241.9.

Here are some projects in the works:

A LW FS (Optik) which I think is complete, it just needs more rigorous testing:

(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/76503Optik simple.jpg)

Longhorn, a MW Wammer which needs to be improved; more of a 'project' stage:

(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/20258Longhorn proj.jpg)

This is Katastrophe, a W.I.P. I have always wanted to improve Ranacide 3 without making it too much like 2Sinister. This still is not close to how i want it to perform.:

(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/65086Kataklysm proj.jpg)

-----------------------------

Baseball has been wearing me down lately.

Sage's computer broke, and I lost his B.B. entry, so I cant do those vids yet (sorry!)

RESTOCKED is being worked on, making a to do list for the bots, improvement wise.

Pokemon (yes, you heard, pokemon) is taking over my life again, I cannot stop playing and I have restarted about 9 versions total. I am an addict. And a weird young adult, if thats what you want to call me.

But Ra2 is my love, and I am just waiting for a whole bunch of stuff to pop into my head.

Regarding other 'Projects':

-Halogen was finished
-DeathTrap is being worked into a new idea, but I also took DeathTrap and turned it into a FS/Piston Poker named Reaktor, which will be seen, eventually.

IDK, im bored, just leave me something that you have to say...

Baseball has been wearing me down lately.

Sage's computer broke, and I lost his B.B. entry, so I cant do those vids yet (sorry!) :pissd:

RESTOCKED is being worked on, making a to do list for the bots, improvement wise.

Pokemon (yes, you heard, pokemon) is taking over my life again, I cannot stop playing and I have restarted about 9 versions total. I am an addict. And a weird young adult, if thats what you want to call me. Always fun. New discussion for us to discuss on AIM.

But Ra2 is my love, and I am just waiting for a whole bunch of stuff to pop into my head.

I really like the looks of Katastrophe. Very cool.

Nothing wrong with Pokemon, inf. I still play it :P.
If you have one of the newer versions (diamond etc), I wouldn't mind battling you sometime :D.

I restarted Blue, Red, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Sapphire, Ruby, and Emerald.

I am in the process of aqcuiring a Nintendo DS so I can play (for the the first time) The likes of FireRed and LeafGreeg (Which I hear are really cool) and Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum (which I hear takes Pokemon gaming to new levels)

Gold & Silver are my favorite, so that is what I play most. I currently am DV'ing all my Pokemon (maybe HazMat knows what that is.)

and guess what? you also have an action replay. and guess what? you will lie to use and say you don't.

that, or you spend you days on the Global trading thing, where people trade you pokemon they used an action replay to get.

I got 412 different pokemon in the pokedex, without an Action Replay, and a some off the Wi-Fi Trading Rooms. What you do is, you try to get the base pokemon (normally at level 1 on the trading), then you just evolve it through all the levels. I also imported a bunch of pokemon from FireRed and Emerald.

Well:

With Nary bearing down and whipping out his NARYAI 1.0 for DSL, its start I start to bear down and at least get a BETA for I.I. AI v0.1.

One thing I fundamentalized (started a movement of) when I progressed with my abilities within this community was the usage of the Blue Snapper for wedges. With the back attachment point, it was a great utility as well as handy for wedges.

Sadly, I have come to realize that even though they are weight-friendly, they just are not up to par with the Snapper2 and DDT when it comes to great wedges.

What does this mean?: Simple rebuilds of a lot of my bots. I already redid Infra (HW Popup: Team #2 Twists of Fate)up to a RPB wedge level by replacing blue snappers with vertical green ones. Also trimmed space on that one too.

Here I did Magikk (MW Popup Team#4 Oblivion):

Trimmed space of chassis down to about bare minimum (Only the single DDT for weapons has room to move) in order to upgrade both wedges to vertical Snapper2's with the Att.Pt. at the bottom of the chassis.

Just a simple update, but if I had to give a BETA date, I'd say Mid November.

Post by: 40757 on September 08, 2009, 11:05:43 PM
Blue snappers actually work great for me along with any other snapper. I usually make my wedges longer though. Nice bot btw.

Post by: pyscolone on September 08, 2009, 11:21:26 PM
Snapper II's blow. they're just good for stacking with a limited weight.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: Naryar on September 09, 2009, 02:00:43 AM
I've had minor successes with Snapper II's wedges, but Snapper2's are superior.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...

Inf, I will be sending my final version of my team quite soon
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: Pwnator on September 10, 2009, 04:39:48 AM
Sweeeeeeet. One thing that annoys me though it that mirroring Snapper2s can't make wedges sink to the exact same level. Oh well, the difference can't be seen when in combat anyway. XD

Oh yeah, do you still have slots for community teams? :D
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: Naryar on September 10, 2009, 05:05:09 AM
Yea very nice job as always inf.

I'm in the process of building a rammer with only maces... theorically, with a decent concussion value, they're better at wearing down your opponent's weapons - plus no normals !

My Stock building is reduced to a minimum right now, but i'll still send a team for your pack.
Title: Infinite's Stock Masterpieces...
Post by: infiniteinertia on September 10, 2009, 05:24:20 AM
Thanks guys.

And I have only gotten 2 teams for the pack, but I know 40575757575 wants to send one too.

I will say again, dont hesitate to PM me a splash of your bots for the pack so I can look over them, if you want me to.

EDIT:

Nah, the skin is sick.

But I wasted 2.5 hours last night building a fail bot so I got NOTHING done in the huge amount of time I had.

I will build the 4 new bots I need for I.I. AI BETA and then upgradethe 17 bots that I need to because of Blue Snapper Disease for a later BETA or the official release.
